HFBoards is well aware that today is election day in the US. We ask respectfully to focus on hockey and not politics.

I don't think sitting for 3 weeks makes that much of a difference right now. 4 games in 6 days is a lot for any goalie. That said, the two games at the start of the week were relatively easy games, but that's still a substantial workload.

Am I the only one who just feels like the Markstrom thing is super unlikely?

Vladar is listed on IR according to CapFriendly - could just be that he was getting some work in while working his way back and that Markstrom just skipped an optional morning skate because he'll be the backup tonight.

Im the opposite. To much smoke where there is fire.
I think if we got that close that he waived his NTC, it will eventually happen with a concession by one of the teams to make it happen

I don't think it will happen this year, but possibly in the offseason.
However, if we go on enough of a run to really stay in it through the deadline, it's possible we get him this season.

Could totally see it in the off season....for whatever reason, just doesn't strike me as a move that will happen in season for the devils this year.

I'm not really sure the organization is currently high enough on Schmid to throw him into NHL games right now, unless they absolutely have to. And I really can't blame them for it, but it's not because of his NHL play when he was up, more because of his AHL play after going back. I think they would have been less reluctant to let him play a game if he hadn't been struggling in the AHL.
I now wonder if they'll call up Poulter and send Schmid back, if Vitek isn't ready within the week? They couldn't call Poulter up the other day, now they can.

people gotta chill with this rest for daws the team is actually starting to catch fire and you want to throw schmid in there whos been horrible in the ahl just to rest daws? just stop! hes got a day off after tonight to "rest" for the stadium series game.

Main board is saying ALLEGEDLY (Got to add that so i dont get an infraction) that Mercer and Holtz are both in the deal.
Grain of salt but they were stating it was from a Flames insider that broke a lot of trades in the past.
