Righty lefty considerations.

OK in for Graves though makes sense.
The left side will most likely be Siegs/Smith/Bahl
So if Marino is going to remain out, Walsh or Nemec would be the callups. I am actually intrigued with giving Nemec a few games. They gave him #5 in camp which usually means he's got a shot at making the team and he was a late cut. I think he is in line for a shot.

That play vs Carolina where Holtz could not catch up to a puck in the neutral zone that surely would have led to a good scoring opportunity really highlights his limitations. Sure he has puck skills, but he is a well below average skater.

Has his value already been crushed? Or is there still time to include him in a trade for a proven goal scorer?

I think something as simple as Graves being out, and Shak being better then everyone else.

You just said the same thing I did. Mukhamadullin with almost no North American experience isn't going to be better than 'everyone else' and he would be extremely unlikely to start in New Jersey.

I'm not against given Nemec a couple games.

A protected Smith Nemec bottom pair might be fine. Though that would put pressure on Bahl Sev's.

I do think

Siegs Hamilton
Bahl Sevs
OK Smith

is possible and worth looking at.

Well we definitely differ on how certain we are of the bold being the case.

These next two games against Boston are gonna be killer. Team needs to make sure they execute the fundamentals. They won’t be able to get away with sloppy turnovers and skating passed pucks. I’ll be very happy if they can snag a couple of points between the two games.

Would have to Walsh for now though as Nemec is already committed to playing in the WJC's the next couple of weeks.

Yep and putting Johnsson in the lineup who is just AWFUL and only playing him 3 minutes doesn't help anything either. Send Holtx to Utica and call up Clarke.

Is Clarke any better then Johnsson? I doubt it.

As a depth guy I'm fine with Johnsson. Though, I agree, I don't like Ruff barely playing these guys when they are in the line up.

Sucks for Graves, but, is that a big loss? I think he is OK and a bit redundant. He is a big body but doesn’t really use it. Id rather Nikita in and Bahl.

The big loss is Marino.

Well the team didn't have this same conviction. Graves has been leaned on heavily. Bahl has been a healthy scratch much of the year. Nikita an AHL'r.

Time will tell how big a loss it is. I'm hoping the young guys can step up.

I am unironically excited for this:

OH MY! Going to sleep so he can bring the present.

I really dont have any interest in seeing Nemec in the NHL this year at all unless we suffer like 3-4 more DMan injuries. We have guys down there with way more experience who should be better suited IMO

hopefully Marino is back soon. I doubt we see Graves anytime soon though....that looked bad

Agreed - Not to mention Nemec will be at the WJC for the next 2 weeks anyway.

Graves injury could've just been a knee contusion which should only be a week or so. I hope it's not something more serious.

It's crazy that the team just don't even acknowledge injuries anymore.

Is Bastian in witness protection?

I agree. Also just a quick sound bite from Palat would be nice. I mean its not like this guy is in the ICU for a month.

Like, "Hey guys... Eager to get back in there. Hard to not be on the ice, but was following the run and just itching to make a difference again. They guys have been making it easier for me winning while i was out."

No one even needs to question his timelines. Just have him make a brief appearance to remind everyone this guy is part of our organization. Is it that hard?

I agree with this 100%. I don't understand the desire to rush Nemec especially since he isn't exactly lighting the A on fire. Let him stay there, log a ton of minutes in all situations, and develop. I'd much rather bring up Walsh or Okhotiuk and have them playing sheltered minutes rather than Nemec.

When you guys want to compare any Comet to Johnsson, you lose. In his 11 games in Utica he became the team's #1 scorer with 13 points.

Foote (25GP) and Thompson (21GP) have finally just caught up to Johnsson's point total of 13.

Clarke just recently surpassed the total with 8 points in is last 7 games and now has 17 points in 24GP. He has become the Comets latest hot guy along with 3rd/4th liner Laberge, whose 4 goals in his last 5 games has given him 6 on the season tied with Thompson.
