My brain is like “wait, the game is over… and we won in regulation in an away game… giving up one goal?”.
It’s been so long to win like this away, without 7 goals, that it’s hard to process. We just don’t win low scoring games. I didn’t know it was allowed.

Nico is a perfectly respectable number 1 center btw. We just happen to have another guy that is better offensively.

That goal was crazy. He skated around the whole dallas team for 30 seconds before that. Literally said "f*** it, i'm gonna get it done myself!"
I somehow felt that he would bury that through when he turned the edge towards the goalie... it was too good to fail...

Was thinking this last night. This is him without a nice PP and carrying scrubs for a part of the year. The PP applies to all our players tbh. What Hughes and Bratt have accomplished this year despite the PP is really impressive.
Meh. Someone will eventually return to tell us that a 70 point pace doesn’t matter and that somehow his point totals in injury plagued seasons define him.
Get Nico a physical power forward who can play along the boards and he will even have more success offensively IMO. Great season with strong production for the captain, despite having several instances of having at least one low quality winger (Vesey, Zacha etc).

That’s also a prime reason why I said earlier that Bowness is a horrible coach for Dallas, they folded at the slightest pressure from NJ and played for OT which burned them.
You could see Oettinger's legs open up and he was shooting and you just had to know that was going in.

Now it's just Makar, who's definitely the best player in that draft, but Nico still has a pretty good chance at being the second best player taken in that draft.
