Teddy would b good on another team that can convert on the power play because he draws mad hooks

''After I fix power play, I make sure we get Teddy out there as much as possible. He draw a lot of hook and other penalty, and put us on many power play.''

I think if we got Boucher for the PP, Teddy may actually have a good chance of producing this year, just my opinion.

I want either Boucher or Maurice. I think Boucher can use a system that can even get our mediocre personnel scoring more on the power play. If not him then I want Paul Maurice. Paul Maurice would help us tremendously I think, even if the power play is still bad. Just having him on the coaching stuff replaces a lot of what left with Oates and Larry. I got my fingers crossed that Maurice isn't given the a head coaching spot in Dallas or Vancouver. I don't think he will be.

Is Maurice still in the KHL, or did he leave/dismiss pretty quickly?

Ugh, whatever. I just hope this doesn't mean Lou will once again be hibernating in July and August and actually looks for top 6 forwards or else this will probably turn into deja vu from January where's hes in the press box after 3 weeks and were rolling out the Bobby Butler's of the world. My expectations are pretty low for him.

I'll agree on the Butler situation(or D'ags or Sulli, or Tom K), that better not happen again.

But we still have the option of making a legit trade for a legit fwd during the year. Mid-season additions do no need to be of the washed up/never was variety.

Sad part is, I could totally see more bargain basement signings again because that's just how Lou rolls now especially with the UFA market being weak and we don't really have the assets for a substantial deal. Tedenby has to have a contingency plan attached to him every time he gets a chance. This year won't be any different I assume.

I tend to think we have assets worthy of acquiring a quality fwd via trade if need be.

I was waiting for your reply to this since we talk about our love for Tedenby a lot. I was thinking ''Man Chicagodevilsfan is gonna love this''.:laugh: I love it too!

NOT!

I have more confidence in Joe Whitney than I do Tedenby making an impact at this point. And personally I'm not even that high on Joe Whitney's skills translating to the NHL. That's how little confidence I have in Tedenby.

Wait, what?

Just because he sucks at it doesn't mean he hasn't committed to it.

No he hasnt. Though I will give you that size is obviously a problem in the dump/chase game, but with his stick skills, not impossible. Plenty of tiny players who move well and have good stick skills can play that way.

Yes, he most certainly has. And it's not so much not utilizing his stick skills, it's more that if he recovers the puck, he has a split second decision to make. Do I make a dumb pass to Eric Boulton/Krys Barch or a dumber pass to Janssen. He's not in a position to succeed..

I mean if they wanted to start him on the 3rd line with Josefson and whoever is on the other wing then I guess they could since that's where he played decent with Lemaire but they absolutely cannot put him in the top 6 without a serious contingency plan. That is way too risky. Deja Vu all over again. I just hope this doesn't means Lou is sitting on his hands again this summer and relying on players getting back to normal production and hoping for no key injuries. Even with a fully healthy squad the offense probably isn't better than 20th.

I have no faith in Tedenby producing at all. His conversion rate on breakaways is a joke. Many of the times he hits the glass, and other times he's knocked off the puck by trying to do something fancy before he gets a shot off, and a defender catches up to him. That's my biggest problem with him, I wouldn't be concerned about his defense if he provided offense. He's had at least 10 NHL breakaways, and I don't think he's scored on one of them except for the penalty shot goal against the Caps in 10-11.

His breakaway on opening night when he hit the glass, he had a lot of breakaway opportunities in 11-12 too. I remember it clearly. The same **** would happen too. He gets a lot of breakaways, but fails to even get a shot off most of the time. It happened in Albany a couple times when I watched them during the lockout also.

i could live with tedenby-josefson-zubrus at least to start if all three are on the roster opening night and clarkson is gone.

I'm thinking that it might be a two way deal. It might very well be a one way deal, but I'm gonna wait until the official announcement to believe it. It just doesn't seem like a Lou type deal to give a guy who hasn't been able to become an NHL mainstay for 3 years a one way deal. Unless he feels very strongly that someone will pick him up on waivers.

I remember before Boulton was bought out last year discussing placing him in the minors for his last year, and a lot of people saying ''I doubt we pay Boulton $550k to play in the A'' I'm thinking the same thing here with Tedenby. If it was a two way he'd be making $105k or so in the AHL. And if it is indeed a one way deal, I think it's quite possible that he had a deal on the table in the KHL/SEL/overseas, and wanted one last crack at the NHL.

If we keep Elias he is already behind Henrique and Elias on the LW. If we sign a W or C, then Josefson would easily push Tedenby off the 3rd line.

If anything he will be fighting for a 3rd line LW spot assuming Henrique gets converted which is looking likely.
Josefson has done absolutely nothing to warrant him being definitively placed ahead of Tedenby. People just love reading his prospect bio and seeing 2-way or defensive forward, and begin spouting off how great his intangibles are. He looked awful all season and was given 5 times the opportunities Tedenby (4 games...2 of which were with Janssen on the 4th line playing 5 min) was with real linemates.

Josefson: Worst +/- on the team for forwards as a DEFENSIVE forward (but yea I forgot, that stat is useless).

GP: 22, 1G, 2A

Yet he is light years ahead of Tedenby. Looking forward to the response of stats aren't everything, plus Tedenby can't play defense and he's weak on the puck (first part is flat out wrong if you actually watch him play and 2nd is irrelevant since Josefson is as well).

Didn't Stephen Gionta get one? He played what 12 regular season games and 20 or so playoff games which is quite a bit less than Tedenby. There was no guarantee he'd be on the team. There was a reason he was an AHL player until he was 29.

The fact that he (in your mind) has averaged a breakaway per every 10 games while playing 8 minutes per game is (would be) pretty damn impressive. Under Deboer he's been bounced around from line to line, relegated to the 4th line at least half the games he played, and benched sporadically for little **** that Larsson and Josefson get a pass for. Can't grow as a player like that.
