They are pushing us around pretty good. They’re muscling us, especially in our own end but also to cause turnovers elsewhere, that is the story of their game. That’s what they do. They are slow and we have repeatedly caught them flat footed for chances, but they are winning the goon battle.

When we get a chance to get the puck out we have to do it and not surrender possession to them in our own end. How many failed clears tonight?

Penalties are 2-1 right now, Nashville will probably get one in the 3rd, and the NHL will consider this a well called game because it was even.

Nashville has no answer for Hughes. None at all. He’s stopped himself more than they have. They suck. If our guys were awake they’d have another couple of goals. Nashville sucks and will likely only get worse as the season rolls along.

I get that they're NHLers who make that play 9 of 10 times but it's hockey 101 from mites on up that you don't make that pass up the middle. Sometimes the basic play is the right play, especially when there are 3 opponents all in the offensive zone still.
