Woweee, what a game, wish I could have watched the 2nd half of the game but my streams kept crapping out. Caught some of it here and there but hell yeah.

Overall I feel like my takeaways from this game match up what I feel about the season at large. They played pretty stifling defense. Even getting hemmed in for like 30 minutes straight I don't think they gave up as much as you think a team spending like straight 30 minutes in their own end would. Then on the other end I don't think they created too much offense. If you can guarantee multiple breakaways a game though I'll take that.

Agreed. Bending, not breaking then making great neutral zone plays to spring odd man rushes.

I think the offense comes once they get back home and get more rest and practices over the next month.

We still need to get this fourth line figured out. MacDermid is not a NHLer unless he's fighting which he's not. Dowling is irrelevant. Tatar has been fine but it's kind of a waste to have him down there playing 8 mins.

It’s just an opinion but in my view the fight was even and NJ played better after that. Now do you want to step out back to see who is right.

Sorry but I think that’s a silly take. Dillon objectively lost that fight. After the good left hands early on I don’t think he landed a single decent punch. Gadjovich spent most of the fight after that feeding him and Dillon eventuallly almost gave up and fell. Dillon also looked worse after.

I don’t think that is even the smallest part of why the devils played better.

Lars Eller would of been perfect for this team. Even when Lazar comes back you can play him on a wing. Lost opportunity.

Ok I disagree. He didn’t get staggered or give up. He got hit in the helmet a few times and Gadjovich didn’t connect anything clean. It was more or less a draw. If you want to give Gasjovich a spiky decision that’s fine but it wasn’t a beat down like your post insinuated.

I think it was a beat down. Gadjovich got
him with some good ones to the face and Dillon was struggling towards the end before he fell down.

Just watched it again. Gadjovich didn’t get as many great ones in as I initially thought but definitely landed the killing blow to knock Dillon down.
Regardless I don’t think that fight changed the game at all.

It’s a shame MacDemrid isn’t good. Having him to fight when needed is a nice luxury.
