They weren’t awful in stretches in the 1st, the two dumb penalties exasperated that. They only really has a bad stretch in the first half of 2nd. Then they were competitive with Panthers in the last 30.

Really big win. It’s no longer early in the season, there’s beginning to be some separation and we maintain and extend our margin against teams that are chasing us.

We beat the best team in Hockey in their building. Stood up to their physical pressure in a way we would never have the past couple of years. Did a great job of managing the momentum swing in the second period after they tied us, keeping our cool and getting the lead back. The third period was a thing of beauty.

Overall I feel like my takeaways from this game match up what I feel about the season at large. They played pretty stifling defense. Even getting hemmed in for like 30 minutes straight I don't think they gave up as much as you think a team spending like straight 30 minutes in their own end would. Then on the other end I don't think they created too much offense. Now if you can guarantee multiple breakaways a game though I'll take that.
