lol just coming back on for the first time since last night and seeing all the responses. I know you’re joking but you shouldn’t have given me a reason to get started again.

Just saw your response too @My3Sons and can’t respond there so I’ll do it here now that I’ve been encouraged

Again, the biggest issue with the whole MacDermid being a deterrent for Tkachuk thing is that there is absolutely nothing MacDermid can actually do to Tkachuk.
You said Tkachuk doesn’t want to fight someone like him. I 100% agree. And guess what, he doesn’t have to and he’s never going to in a million years. He can still do whatever he wants to do and there’s not a thing MacDermid can do. He can chase him around asking him for fights all he wants while our team suffers or take penalties but that’s the best he’s gonna do.
You thought I was joking? Now that IS funny.

My point was that we didn't have Tkachuk going after Nico after the f*cking game is over and assaulting him again and again.

Mac's presence IS a deterrent from that sh*t happening again.

Keith is a bully and will bully people who don't have teammates who are bullies themselves (and bigger than them).

I, for one, am glad that MacDermitt is on this team, limited skills and all.

It's really hard to tell with him because he always looks like he is in distress.
:thumbu: From Day 1 of his first development camp session. He was gassed during a 3-on-3.

Yes and no. Tkachuck played with less edge. When he plays with less edge he’s less effective. We will never know the specifics but that’s the way I see it. For once tonight an opponent was forced to fight after hitting a Devil and got his bell rung. That’s the first time in how long? It’s not a good thing but the way the games are reffed it’s a necessary evil. NJ has to show the soft Ruff play style is no more and the team will push back as needed. Again your opinion may be different and that’s fine it’s just an observation

Do you remember why that whole thing with Nico happened? It was because he hurt Barkov and they targeted him from there are on out.

Had absolutely nothing to do with lack of MacDermid. If Nico did that again tonight the same thing would probably have happened and MacDermid would have been watching from the bench unable to do a single thing.

Ya I don’t think the causes are what you think. Nobody can play the way Tkachuk does for 82 straight games and I’m sure he had lots of games like this when he’s not playing against MacDermid. Especially in games when scoring and trying to tie the game is a far bigger concern.

I’m skeptical Florida goes down so quietly in back to back games at home like this. One fight in each game for Gadovich and that was about it. No real bullying or post whistle or end of game message sending. It’s just out of character for them. We will see as the season unfolds. Some of it is the placebo effect. If Bratt and Jack play better because they think it matters then it matters even if it’s a placebo.

The context matters. Its not even close to playoffs, the just came off a big winning streak, and nobody hurt their captain this time around (Nico 🙄).

My biggets problem with the whole idea again is the fact that there isn’t a single thing Kurtis MacDermid can do to Tkachuk.

Lazar being able to play again this season would be ideal, but I'm assuming that's not happening.

Get a winger for Jack, then do a Palat-Lazar-Tatar 4th line could work
Lazar is a better winger than center. That 4th line needs a center who can win face-offs, strong on the forecheck, can play on PK, blocks shots, hits, and brings some size and grit. Speed would be a bonus.

Missed this game because I had to work late. Thrilled to see we beat the defending Cup champions in back to back games in their arena. And the second time in even more convincing fashion.

Watch out NHL, the Devils are for real again.

He can shame him. If Tkachuk has to meekly back down he loses face and respect and is less intimidating going forward. For some players it wouldn’t matter. Wilson and Ratface are going to do what they do regardless but frauds like Tkachuk won’t as I see it. Notice I didn’t say anything about any other Panther. He’s a fraud. Guy has never taken on someone who could challenge him. He’s gutless.
