I thought Palat had a good game and made some nice defensive plays.

There seemed to be fewer Devils fans tonight than Tuesday, and there were definitely fewer where I was sitting tonight. I’m assuming a lot of them came Tuesday and couldn’t make it to another one two nights later. Which I don’t blame them for.

There wasn’t much of a “Let’s Go Devils!” Chant at the horn like last game and last year when we won here.

Luke was absolutely dancing out there tonight.

Points will come, but he is doing some elite stuff both sides of the ice.

No reason he can't develop into that full package elite guy. A true number 1

He keeps up this level of play and he’s already a #1. If he is indeed that guy everything else falls into place beautifully on the back end. Now and going forward. Nemec, Casey, and Silayev to come. It’s a beautiful thing

Luke has looked like a monster the last few games.

With some puck luck he would have some signature defensive stops and some spectacular offensive plays. The offense is forgotten because the puck just happened to not go in.

If this is Luke’s current normal level of play then he’s probably already a top pairing guy and he could have more level ups to come.

Bratt is a geniuine superstar.
When NJ gave him the contract extension a lot of NJ fans (including myself) was nervous whether he was worth the increase salary he was to receive. He has taken his game to another level and the team is getting a discount given how good he is now.

Bratt was always going to be a special player even during his slow start to his career.

You could see it...well I could see it while others were disregarding him as another Tedenby.

So glad that years later, he's now viewed this way.

They really learned how to handle the Panthers forecheck in real time the past 2 games. Had lots of problems with it at times Tuesday. Tonight they did a great job battling and the breakout was crisp all night

Sal might have been on to something that they learned as things went on that they didn't need to be physically scared of this team.

If that's true and they carry that over that's a big thing because it means they don't need to be physically scared of any team in the league.

Gee....anyone know if Tkachuk played tonight?

I never noticed him once.... :sarcasm:

@Captain3rdLine , see?

Told you MacD is a deterrent.

Tkachuk wouldn't dare start sh*t after the game is over when someone like MacDermitt is there to shove his face through the ice.
lol just coming back on for the first time since last night and seeing all the responses. I know you’re joking but you shouldn’t have given me a reason to get started again.

Just saw your response too @My3Sons and can’t respond there so I’ll do it here now that I’ve been encouraged

Again, the biggest issue with the whole MacDermid being a deterrent for Tkachuk thing is that there is absolutely nothing MacDermid can actually do to Tkachuk.
You said Tkachuk doesn’t want to fight someone like him. I 100% agree. And guess what, he doesn’t have to and he’s never going to in a million years. He can still do whatever he wants to do and there’s not a thing MacDermid can do. He can chase him around asking him for fights all he wants while our team suffers or take penalties but that’s the best he’s gonna do.

I’m curious to know how much Hischier played against Barkov the past 2 games. Thought he was kept in check for the most part which is no easy task

I think Sal mentioned they were initially matched up a ton, but Maurice gave up on that because it wasn't working and then praised the team for forcing the home team to abandon their match up plans like that
