I didn’t realize how good FLAs record was so I checked out their stats on HDB, and outside of Samson and Sasha, their O is not that crazy. Lundell is having a down year, as is Tkachuk, which scares me because it leads me to believe they have a rock solid system.

It's the typical Paul Maurice 2 yrs of being extreme over-achievers then 2 yrs of mediocrity then he gets fired or "resigns"

What a fun night it will be in Miami, seeing a real and talented hockey club in live action! I know the NJD will be 6-1 losers, but at least Fitz and Lindy and the rest of our boys will get to see what a real contender looks like. I'm so excited for this drive down to Miami! FLA are the most exciting team in the league and worth the price of admission.

I keep trying to tell you DD, the arena is not in Miami, it's in Sunrise. They haven't played in Miami in 25 years now. We are not going to Miami. We're not going near Miami. Miami is closer to Sunrise than Tampa is by quite a lot, but it's still not that close.

I can't wait to see the gutsy FLA team out on the ice, coached by a real good HC in Paul Mo. He was so good that he was an NHL HC while he was still in his 20s. Lindy wasn't good enough to be an HC at that age.

I was even thinking about attending FLA's next two home games. They play ANA, who have Zegras and Gibson. Both just got injured. I'm much more bummed about missing Zegras than J. Hughes. DET comes to town after that. Now there's an exciting team on the upswing. They'll definitely be in the playoffs this year. It’s too bad I missed the Rags down here by a few weeks.

It all started 5-6 years ago (maybe even 7, DD has been gone about 5) when I started making mock DD posts with his avatar put into my posts and then mimicking him.

I actually became really good at it. I can’t impersonate just anyone, but for some reason I had him down really good.

And I wanna say for at least the last 10 years he was the one user name that friends of mine that don’t use this forum and have never been on here before could name. They probably don’t even know my name on here, but if I say something that sounds like DD or send them a text (even without the avatar) they’d say stuff “Oh no, that Devils Dominion guy again?”.

For the last year or two I’ve been sending a DD style text (with the avatar) to my friend before games sometimes, with the usual grim predictions (remember he predicted a loss every game when we had predict the score) and he usually replies with something like “GO AWAY TROLL!” Or “it’s easy to see why this troll was banned!”.

I’m not the original DD, but I’ve definitely kept up the spirit of the original DD and taken him over haha.

Or should I say he has taken over me?

I don't know how Devils can win it, but why we can't, it should be available option to win some lucky games. I know its easier to do with good goalie, but sometimes even bad one got heir own luck. Ven against team like Florida.

They’re the kind of team in the past however many years that if they were on a 9 game losing streak they’d be breaking it tonight against us. Even if we were on a 9 game winning streak.

And here’s a stat for you. When was the last time the Devils beat the Panthers without Blackwood and who was in goal for us?

I’m pretty sure we haven’t beaten the Panthers without Blackwood in at least 6 years. The goalie was probably Kinkaid or Schneider.

I’m thinking it was a 3-2 win in Newark on October 27th of 2018 with Kinkaid in goal. Goals from Palmieri, Hall and Coleman. And looking at the game log, we were up 3-0 with 4 minutes left in regulation before the Panthers scored 2 goals in the final 3 minutes and 57 seconds to make it a nail biter lol.

I’m gonna guess our last win in Sunrise without Blackwood was probably opening night of 2014. That was like a 5 or 6-1 blowout win. That’s going back to the Lou era……

But we do have a couple of wins there since with Blackwood and a few more at home with Blackwood.
