I think if that first goal had been scored on Vanecek or Daws, the team would have completely deflated. It took one game for Allen to come in and bring some stability to everyone's psyches, and now even though they're playing the same terrible defense, they still have enough confidence to push the pace offensively.

On our goal, amazing pass from Meier to start the 2 on 1. Bullet right on the tape. I really like that line. Keep it together next year. Great balance.

Palat is our best player on the wall and wins most board battles. You can’t say that about most of our players either unfortunately so Palat stands out with that.

I tend to think that’s Hischier but yeah Palat is an excellent player in many respects. He’s just not that smooth which when he makes a bad pass or struggles with the puck on offense looks a bit awkward. As a third liner he’s probably one of the best in the league

Excruciatingly bad period. No excuse to look like this. Green continues to show he has no idea what he’s doing with this team.

The super soft goal from Luke and Allen taking away 2-3 sure goals is the difference in this one so far.

I said the below earlier :

Allen will do whatever he can to keep the Devils in the game.

But it's up to the Devils forwards to produce.

Devils aren't going to win this game 1-0.

And so far I'm proven right.

Allen is doing work tonight.

Devils need to pick it up, though, despite them leading.


ALSO, they need to kill off this penalty.

yet we lead 2-1.

Classic devils game, except in reverse. Tons of chances but then giving 1 chance the other way and it's in the net. The Luke goal was incredibly weak though. Vanacek giving up that goal would've had people hunting him down IRL, although looking at it again...I think he might've given up goals like that, or was it Schmid

Weekes losing it over Luke’s speed on the goal… that’s like half speed for him. He’s going to be so special.

That's nice and all but expecting this kind of god level of play from a goalie is not a recipe for success. This should not be something to be satisfied with.
