I'd be more worried if this slump appeared to be the result of teams figuring us out and devising effective plans to beat us. That would bode ill for the rest of the season and the playoffs.

But no, most of our recent troubles are due to unlucky bounces, inability to finish on chances, soft goals, and a couple of straight up no-shows. The luck based ones tend to even out over time, and I trust our coaches to fix the others.

Seems Keefe agreed with me that the games since the break have all been suspect. This one is not much better. It's four games in a row of poor, uninspired, out of sync play. I think they need to stop with the christmas cookies. They'll put on weight and make you feel sluggish.

This is Jake Allen's career basically.

It's not like he's playing less than Jake Allen-like.

These seasons are pretty on par for Jake Allen.
Well aware. But he he missed a few games because of injury where a backup was called up and has been visually worse since then. It seems he isn’t fully healthy but the team doesn’t have an AHL goalie they can trust and rightly don’t want to stretch Markstrom. So Allen plays at less than 100 percent

How come this goalie can make 16 saves in a row without allowing a goal, but Jake Allen can't anymore?

Oh, that's right! He made 26 saves in a row last game before a STINKER in the final minute of period 2.

Never mind.
