I'll be fine with the spilt, but I really do want this win.

Finally get 4 in a row and a big chance to put Carolina flat on the mat and make the division crown a two team race.

Not going to be easy though. I expect Carolina to play a very very desperate game. Rod and that locker room have to know they need to reverse their downward trend ASAP. They know they can afford to leave the weekend on the wrong side of an 8 point swing

They're pretty damn good at home, probably cause they can dictate matchups way way more obviously. I can see a very low scoring game tonight and Carolina not wanting to give up rush chances and the Devils being cautious after Markstrom got bombarded a bit. Can see OT in this game

The one outlier is the goaltending. Allen hasn't been good lately and they got the ultimate no name JAG in net.

Could come down to which goalie makes more mistakes.

Maybe

But the downgrade in goalies for both teams in this game could cause more scoring.

Not gonna lie, if I didn't do the goals reviews the last memory I think I would have had of Tokarski was that rando stretch in the ECF for the Canadiens back in 2016, where Price got ran by Kreider in game 1 and taken out for the rest of the series and their backup (Budaj I think) was really bad, so enter third string Tokarski.

Offf, actually, I don't even think that was 2016. That had to be 2014? When the Rangers beat them in the ECF and made the finals.

There was a time about 12-15 years ago where he was a very hot goalie prospect for the Lightning.

Dougie on the reverse? Guess what’s about to happen.

I just noticed that Mercer's goal against Carolina in the last game was his 150th career point.

150 points ties Mercer with Dave Andreychuk for #49 in All Time Devil point leaders.

And Also Nico just passed Jamie Langenbrunner at #15 in All Time Devil points. Nico is currently #14 and only 7 points away from Petr Sykora at #13.

Another semi interesting stat...not one active Devil is in the top 50 PIM leaders. Bastian is the highest on the list at #80 and 149 PIM's. He's just below Zidlicky's 150

Brian Gionta is #50 with 227 PIM's
