So you want to trade Nico and Bratt and start another 10 year f***ing rebuild?

you cant the beds made gotta lay in it. I wouldn’t be opposed to shipping one out bringing in a true leader who that is I dunno. I gave Fitz credit he imo saw the core lacking leadership or experience he brought in veterans he thought would help but it hasn’t

If we don't win the next game I don't even want to hear Hall get booed at game 3. Rather him think we don't give two f***s about him then make his p̶o̶u̶t̶y̶ ̶l̶i̶p̶s̶ ego get even bigger.

And we were a very good team up until that point.
Until late December yes, but we spun out about 3-4 weeks before the Nico Markstrom injuries, which I don't think were until later January?

I think they both got injured within the same week.

I remember Nico getting hurt in a game against Montreal, which came after the disasterful weekend where we lost to Philly and Ottawa on back to back days at home, which I think came right after back to back OT/shootout losses to Florida and Toronto.

I think Markstrom got injured a few days and maybe 2 games before that against Boston?

I know Palat and Haula were injured at one point around then too, but not for very long. And neither were really doing a whole lot.

So far, outside of Dumolin, disappointed in how the TD acquisitions have played the last few weeks.

Glass looked good for about 4 games after getting him and basically non existent after that.

Sprong looks and is generally noticeable each game, but somehow can never get his shot off in a clean play.

Probably put Tatar in next game, maybe go back to Lazar instead of Dowling. I don't know. Dowling is noticeable but he doesn't do much outside of forecheck and perimeter work. His shots always get deflect.

Sometimes the internet is good.

Stars typically do get shutdown in the playoffs, but they absolutely need to cash in when there's a breakdown. The ones who go far, typically do.

Case in point, that Meier opportunity which he just had to lift the puck an inch. Inexcusable.
Stars might get shut down in the playoffs but the true stars still have an impact on the game even if they are getting shut down.

Our core doesn’t win board battles doesn’t get physical doesn’t show any fight or emotion out there.

There isn't much help for that bottom basically 9 at this point. But really nothing there for the bottom 6.

The center depth just absolutely must be addressed. Losing Cody Glass should have virtually no impact on even a good team, let alone one with aspirations of being a contender. Yes Jack getting hurt is a big deal, but that can't result in needing to get Cody Glass at the TDL to play second line center...

AGAIN. Why would anyone believe a trade acquisition who has been dealt away 3 or 4 times or more be any different now than they were previously?

What veterans did he bring that have helped though? I’m not sure what this obsession some people have with getting “veteran leadership” is? Dillon has been slightly disappointing at best and is just a big idiot who takes penalties. Pesce is mostly solid but was our worst player today and doesn’t really change much. Markstrom is an idiot who swings his stick around every time he’s mad. There’s nobody on this team who’s more of a leader than Nico quite frankly. Bringing in old, overrated, declining veterans is not something he should be getting credit for and does not improve our team.

Don't think Glass has been healthy since his first stint. Definitely not healthy now.

I think we can afford to spread our top guys out. The one thing Carolina doesn’t have is any absolute top of the league superstar forwards or unstoppable lines who we need to be playing all our best players against. They have some good players and are deep. Let’s spread it out a little.

Not sure why I didn't bring this up too. Another L for Keefe. Why they tried to go with Nico-Bratt for so long is a mystery to me. They need to spread it out on the road. I even said that a while ago. Not sure if it'll actually do anything but having them on 1 line makes it too easy for Carolina

Glass has been as advertised - yeah he's not going to score a goal every game, but he had the 2nd highest xG differential on the team after his acquisition. He's been quietly effective on a team where a lot of guys have been loudly ineffective.

Only caught the 3rd due to Easter stuff

It looked ok but god I heard horror stories about the first two periods. Goddamn shame on the injuries. At least markstrom held strong.

Welp, we knew it was gonna take a miracle but hope what I saw in the 3rd and Markstrom carries us in game 2

Palat’s contract is an anchor that we really to get out of. Haula is an inconvenience but he’s been better the past few weeks.

I’ve said it for weeks but Luke’s extension is coming ($8M?) and we’re paying two third pair dmen $8M total. I mean we’re locked into Dillon for ANOTHER 2(!) years. This is why the Kovacevic extension is frustrating to me.

Fitz is on the hook for these contracts, especially Palat, Haula and Dillon. Those were bad deals at the time, a year too long and $M too much.

We don’t have space for these incoming guys on ELCs. Luke, Dougie, Seigs, Pesce, Kovacevic and Dillon are locked in for multiple years now. I think moving Dougie is possible / probable but you have two (soon three) young D with little space as currently constructed.
Ya assuming ~1 mill for the 7th dman, Luke would need 6 million to hit 33 million which would have been the most expensive dcore this season. 8 million and we're sitting at ~35 million spent on just defense. Think it's fair to say Fitz has overspent on D while the forward core needs lots of help

There is absolutely no reason for Keefe to be saying this shit. Screw him and his attitude. We got (albeit slide in on our face) as the 3rd team in the metro 9 points behind the Canes.

We know what they can do but we should be trying beat it and take it to them rather than having this stupid whiny they’re gonna be better than us attitude.
Horrendous leadership. I’ve said this before…I don’t understand this organization. At all. It’s just bush league all over the place.

I don’t even care about getting specific decisions with Keefe. If it was up to me he’d be getting fired before he even got on the team bus tonight.

His attitude is so shitty and not what you want from a coach. I had heard about this from Toronto fans when we hired him but mostly ignored it because he had a good record. The second things don’t go well or don’t look great he has the shittiest pissiest attitude ever. How the hell os the team supposed to be better when Carolina is dominating and he’s putting his hands on his head and saying this is what we expected while acting like there’s absolutely nothing he can do about it. He seems to think every bad that happens is everyone else’s fault and out of his control.

Yeah, most of the vets that were brought in were meh at best, if not a complete disaster.

3 years of Palat so far, with 2 more currently to go. 5 years for Palat to (likely) not even have a single 40 point season as a Devil. He may have had he not missed 30 games in 22-23, but even that year he paced for just under it. Paced for about 30 points this year while playing with the two best offensive players on the team.

We're only in year one of Dillon with 2 years left and that's already looking like a bad one.

Haula's first 2 years here were good, but this year wasn't and he's still under contract for next year.

Didn’t catch much other than them being dominated when I could sneak a peek. Looks like they could barely create anything from what I saw.

I did see the shit show of Luke going down and Marky taking out Glass. What f***ing embarrassment LMAO HAHAHAHA holy shit.

I guess as advertised but I thought he would be more impactful on the score sheet.
