Devils fans throw beer on ice, Leafs bench. Cause delay of game.

No one should be throwing stuff on the ice, but this is just frustration boiling over. We've had something like 12 goals overturned this season, quite a few on questionable "judgement calls" or mystery video review. The 3 overturned goals tonight, plus the obvious missed penalties like Marner on Bastian before the first overturned goal, Murray intentionally delaying the game when the Leafs were trapped in their zone for 2 minutes, etc.

People are fed up with the standard of officiating in this league.

Devils must feel like they're getting VARed by the same officials from the Argentina vs Saudi Arabia game.

Contact probably was incidental... I believe it's supposed to be no goal if incidental, and no goal + penalty if on purpose/egregious (could be wrong though).
the league office said it was more than incidental and was the reason the goal was waived off. The refs. made an error in not calling a penalty.

I mean 3 goals called back ... I get it

All three were legit. I see Devils fans quoting this stating the second goal should have counted:

But nope, the contact was not at the same time the goal was scored, it was clearly after. The player interfered with Murray who fell and then the same player deflects the puck.

I understand being frustrated at 3 goals called back and it's hard to have a great view live/in arena, but the 2nd and 3rd were textbook no-goals. First one was 50/50 and understandable to be upset over.
Not really 50/50.

The forward prevented the goalie from moving freely within his crease and prevented him from making the movement to make a save. He wasn't pushed into the crease and was there all of his own volition.

That's textbook goalie interference.

The 2nd was even more textbook. Goalie is clipped as he is moving to the net.
The NHL has made it clear over the last 20 years or so that you can't hit the goalie, even if he's out of his crease.

The 3rd was a kick. There's no 2 ways about it.

The third was textbook kicking motion. Anyone who has ever read the rule knows it's obviously no goal. First two you can argue about.

Honestly, probably would've happened in most arenas with 3 disallowed goals. Pretty wild.
Agreed. Not sure what the issue on the last one. Clearly not a goal. But we know how people are. Tommy Lee Jones told us on men in black

Honestly, stuff like this should be a penalty

He didn't attempt to move out of the way.

On the surface, it's pretty absurd to have three goals called back in one game. Not sure I've ever seen it before, so not surprised the fans are pissed. But digging deeper tells a different story; the second and third were no brainers. First one Devils fans have every right to be upset about, I thought it should've gone the other way, but every team's been on the wrong side of those.

The second is simply a judgement call and can easily be disagreed with. If it's incidental contact, the goal should count.

Debating on whether it was incidental is very much subjective and debatable imo

Are you somehow insinuating that these refs are biased against New Jersey?

The same refs who watched Marner get a tomahawk chop to the visor, with no obstruction and didn't make a call?

Strange.

IF 3 goals were disallowed for Toronto in Toronto, HFBoards would burn down lol. Fans have a right to be upset wether they are legit or not

We had a ref call back a goal because of a pick play in Game 7 at home. It's happened multiple times this season in the regular season already and nothing has been called.
