very disappointing season. He's not a good player... but i know this season wasn't him. He would have been better without the injuries, IMO. However with age he might be done with us.

If that’s the case then I think I may rather have one of those guys ahead and Daws be the 3G.

There’s a real chance that ends up being the case, but that’s what training camp will be for.

Just seems as though when Fitzgerald gets burned in one area of team building, he overcorrects. After getting burned different years with terrible goaltending and defensive depth, I see him making sure the goaltending and defense is set up to be too good to fail.

I don’t see him giving Daws the backup spot uncontested. I think he would want another fallback option too, if needed.

Interesting. I was kinda assuming he won’t be one of the nominees as there really wasn’t much talk about it even at the halfway point when the team was humming. Would be a nice surprise. Looks like he is now showing up on some lists of possible candidates.

And regarding Quinn, I just don’t see Vancouver management coming to the proper realization they need to trade him at highest value instead of losing him for less or nothing. They are committed to making the playoffs every year, no matter what. Look how they held onto Boeser when they damn well knew they weren’t going to extend him. Their organizational philosophy is so counter to the idea of a Quinn trade. The only way I see it is if Quinn forces their hand and demands out. Otherwise I could see them holding onto him until the bitter end just to tell their fan base they tried everything they could to keep him.

yeah solid regular season but ghost come playoff time. i think thats what people are talking about with bratt at least thats what im talking about.

He wasnt ghost, he wasnt bad, he wasnt very good in the same time. He is playmaker and he didnt have a player to playmaking most of the serious. Bratt is a great second wave player. And its not his problem that Devils lost Jack Hughes and there were no players outside Nico, Timo and Bratt in play off at all. He is doing great for his money and his role.
