Hopefully just two games max. Would suck if they gave him more and it leaked into the playoffs.

I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a game or 2. Anything into the playoffs would be excessive. Cotter was visibly dejected once he saw Pelech was hurt bad. Keefe said it was bad from Cotter, the Devils players probably admitted to the Isles guys it was bad too thus you didn't see too much from the Isles in terms of getting retribution + the game lacked any juice for that anyway.

Would blow if its more than 2 because Cotter is another x Factor with his random displays of goal scoring prowess

Haven't looked at the standings much lately, but just peaked this morning. Wow we might be the worst team, points wise, to make the playoffs lool

I’m all for resting players, but the team needs to stabilize and try to build some type of consistency up heading into the matchup against the Canes. I would say to everyone you haven’t earned a rest. If there is an injury concern sure sit them but otherwise get out on the ice and get some confidence back in their game.
I'd normally agree, but at this point, f it. Better chance they ice a full lineup, risk injury, and still lose easily to 2 more non playoff teams to close out the season. Daws should also get one of the starts.

According to Birnell (Utica reporter), the Devils nearly signed McLaughlin in 2022 when they also signed Halonen. Devils brass had eyes on him and Gruden for a while. Not sure if that’s management or coaching, ever since Keefe admitted to watching film on Dumoulin I wonder how much he’s involved with scouting pro players.

A bit puzzling to be what they see out of some of these 20-30 point forwards in the AHL. Feels like all of these guys are JAG in the AHL, let alone anyone you can count on to be a contributor in the NHL.

I would sit some combo of Hischier, Bratt, Meier and maybe a defenseman or two in Boston and then ice a full lineup at home against Detroit with Dougie.

No sense in having some of the top guys play a back to back this late in the season when we’re carrying 15 forwards and 8 defenseman.

I wouldn't play Hischier either of these games at this point. Would also sit Luke (was banged up) and Pesce (seems banged up).

I thought it was critical for them to go into this series hot and with momentum since they are huge underdogs imo, but that ship has sailed.
