Brady is on a very shitty team. He brings much more to the table than any winger we have.

And they both have scored the same amount of goals at Even Strength. Doing goals against is very disingenuous when Timo plays with one of the best defensive centers in the league. If Timo played full time with Jack his GA/60 would look just Brady's
He’s played 450+ minutes with one of the better centers in the league and they’re in a playoff spot.

oh...kay?

They were doing this podcast on their own last year I believe. The podcast name ties-in actually since they both were Devils when they went to the all-star game. I think it's cool that they're managing to stay active with their organizations. I think Boyle has been doing some podcast work with the Rangers and Cory has done some analyst work with the Islanders while they both do their thing with the NHL Network.

Big fan of both of them from their BC days on top of their ties with the Devils, so I'm all for them staying involved with the team and the game.

Ottawa is the first wild card team right now. I don't think it's fair to say they are shitty. I have no beef with your advocating Brady as a player but just to be fair to the context.

The entire bolded claim falls apart when you realize that timo had 28 in 69 games last year.
Timo missing a bunch of games, something Brady has not done during this streak, does not make my post(which is a fact, not a claim) fall apart.

I got a chuckle out of that. Nothing wrong with them staying connected with the game. Although as a meager beer league goalie, I hate to think of the stench of that goalie gear. Those are the Vaughn VE8s from ~2018.
Pooph it.

The Devils are going to make the playoffs. I wasn't concerned about that when Jack got injured (though of course it pretty much ends any shot at contention).

Timo Time is back on.

We'll see if they can upset Carolina.
The playoff experience alone is critical for this group. Their system is better suited to combat Carolina’s vs what Lindy was running, and no matter how you slice it, Stankoven is a massive downgrade from Necas/Rantonen. And their goaltending sucks! For those reasons, I am hopeful of at least making it interesting, especially if we get Dougie back.

Identical records with our best players taking a 2 &1/2 month vacation.

On December 27th we were 1st in the conference and Ottawa was 8th...

Identical records is a condemnation of our performance for almost the last 3 months
Whatever the reason, the teams have performed essentially the same this year, and Meier is still handedly outproducing him at 5v5.

No, New Jersey collapsed.

And again at Even Strength Meier and Brady both have scored 14 goals.

Columbus was 10th in the conference on December 27th... they're on our heals today.

Hopefully we pull this out but the last two+ months has been a free fall. 24 ROW on December 27th -- 34 today :dunno:

That's a direct reflection on the best players in my opinion...and don't use the injury nonsense this was happening long before any injuries.

I'm quite aware that the team has collapsed, they clearly haven't been that good this year.

If they're better, that sure hasn't translated to better results. But Tkachuk has had worse individual results.

Sure, the Devils should have been better the last 2 months, but that would also mean that Meier would likely have an even larger lead on Tkachuk in terms of 5v5 scoring...

Kudos to columbus. They had a crazy run since mid November to early February. Something like a .730 pts % in that stretch. They are back to 50-50 hockey lately,

Devils play definitely did collapse after 12/27, but the games in hand is an additional reason why we lost ground.

We played 2-6 games more than everyone on that date.

This helps us though in terms of rest at the end of the season. Look at the April schedule. Lots of rest and not much traveling to end the season before a playoff push (hopefully)

I actually think Ottawa might be a lot better than we think they are.

Ullmark has only played roughly half the games due to I think a couple of different injuries. So it's not like he's carrying them.

And they're coached by.......Travis Green.

If a team coached by Travis Green is doing that well, I'm pretty sure that means they aren't a bad team. It doesn't seem like they're riding any crazy percentages like some of the other teams either.

I'm not saying they're a cup contender and even if they were, they'd have to be pretty amazing to do that with Green as head coach. It's just that I don't think they're really a bad team at all right now.
