Lol people watch this team and think signing Mitch Marner for $13 million is a good idea. C'mon. Nevermind that it isn't even plausible.

No, the Devs won't look at Marner. Complete fantasy land on here sometimes.

Vibes are down here man, no need to intentionally make them worse. It was a simple convo starter when the Marner news broke out on a very slow Saturday on this thread. He’s also a player with a long history with our head coach. If the hypothetical was possible then contracts like Palat/Dougie would have to be moved. Same conversation when folks here were talking about the also hypothetical and far fetched Rantanen to NJ news if that ever manifested. All because the dialogue here all season was needing a top 6 addition. (Along with bottom 6 additions)

Welcome to a hockey forum.

So a team with to many playmakers and not enough shooters should get....another playmaker.

Last 4 seasons:

30 goal pace, 40 goal pace, 31 goal pace, 35 goal pace

His last 5 seasons would be the leading or second most goal scorer on NJ. You wouldn’t want that kind of production? And he has a great arsenal of shots. He needs to shoot more but 2.3-3.1 shots per game over the last few seasons isn’t awful.

I have to say that the loss against Dallas last week - when we fought back to tie it on Pesce’s goal with 4 minutes left and then lost the game with 5 seconds left - was as painful and depressing an experience as I’ve ever had watching sports. I’m not saying it was more than any other - just that I don’t remember being as depressed and sad after a game any time in recent years - like going back to maybe 2010. I couldn’t sleep afterwards and just kept lying there unable to shut off an emotional feedback loop. Having just seen Jack Hughes get hurt again the prior game was definitely part of it too. Just so sad.

It’s not healthy. It’s not fun. I’ve been wondering why have I spent so much time on this message board? But certainly it’s been until recently a resource from surfing my phone surveying horrible political news and current events.

I disagree that we aren’t necessarily making the playoffs and still have hope, but I’m not going to watch the games for a while except to check in for a few minutes periodically . Trying to find an acceptable level of engagement.
Limitation of net social activities is the right way to heal your mindset. Different opinion will not be changed and will not help you. If you feeling pressure, try to close social media and this boards, do some push ups or pull ups or cardio, try to find a couple of hours for playing some actual sport, you will feel better. World isn't good enough by himself to find more negativity from some 19 players and how they are playing hockey and what some randoms are thinking about that.

I wonder if anyone other then Fitz and the others involved will ever know the target Fitz was after that he fineshed 2nd in. He will never give the name. I am pretty sure he said it was someone with term or under team control. Norris, Zetterlund or Cozens fit that category. It's strange though because Cozens deal happened early in the day. The Marchand deal was announced at the end of the deadline and he is a UFA but that seems like one that dragged in in terms of a trade.

He was obviously targeting Dumo for a bit on D and Glass as the depth piece foe the bottom 6. But the miss on the big prize we might never know thw truth.

Beat the Blue Jacket twice please...

I don't know though...the CBJ looked pretty resilient against the Rangers last night.

6 out of the next 8 points at a minimum.

If I recall correctly, he said a center with term on deadline day.

It basically leaves Laughton, Coyle, Mittlestadt, Cozens, and Norris.

Based on the timeline of the O’Rielly and Schenn rumors, I’m assuming it’s one of the first four he missed out on and then pivoted.

maybe it was Cozens?

While I wish to say it definitley wasn't Laughton, the 2nd being burned away for Dumo meant anything is possible.

Columbus' biggest strength this year seems to be finishing ability. The polar opposite of us.

We seem committed to playing a tight, disciplined, committed game from this point on to succeed, we just need to capitalize when we have our opportunities. I hope we can continue playing that style in this final stretch. It will remain our best recipe to success.

I'm not as down as others at the price we paid for Dumo in a sellers market. He has cup pedigree and is wah more valuable to a playoff team then the Ducks. I thought that was a solid move. I also like the Glass move a lot. I'm not going to ignore those two trades because he failed to gwt the big prize. He won 2 years ago as a buyer in the Meier sweepstakes. He lost this year on his target. The other 2 moves were good ones. I do not believe he hand picked Glass. I think they liked him for a while and was a trade he was gonna make even if the big trade worked out.
