Eh. Only if a 3rd team was retaining some salary. That contract stinks.

I suggested Mercer for Mittlestadt previously. Seems like a hockey trade that can benefit us and the players involved. I’m not in love with Mittlestadt but he does address a positional need in center and has two years remaining on his deal after this season. Yes- 5.75m is a little high but the delta between his contract and Mercer’s is only 1.75m. We could do a lot worse.

I truly have no idea why you keep arguing as if I demanded the Devs trade one of the top 3 D prospects for a 30+ winger. Maybe that's your issue throughout this entire exchange. Also, very ironically I'd ideally want a 2/3 C tweener capable of playing up the lineup or a 2nd line utility W...meaning a guy that can play W/C as needed. I've said this numerous times. And duh, they need to be in their 20s, which should also be obvious from how much I rag on the roster construction and timing. Reminder, this is what started the convo. So idk why or how you jumped to assuming I wanted some over the hill winger....or even a winger at all. I've said 100 times, the current roster has no versatility or depth. And that's a problem. Aside from injuries, that primarily stems from only having 1 guy on the roster that plays like a complete NHL center. And it ain't Jack.

"They are gonna move 1 of the 3 D prospects by start of next season. That's my prediction. It's the most realistic way to upgrade the top 6 long term."
