Huh? I'm not upset, just a weird "deal". That said, the former 6th round pick thing is a silly argument. A future 6th is at least a lotto ticket for, say, a Jesper Bratt. Certainly isn't a "better version" vs lotto ticket.

Don't really care though. Just seems odd.

That's fair, I shouldn't have said you were upset because you did say "it's whatever," don't like to put words in people's mouth, my bad.

But I disagree on the value of 6th round "almost ready to prove what he is or isnt" vs 6th round in the future. Bratts are rare, 6th rounds making it to the NHL are rare on their own. This one seems to have a shot, even if not a great one, so he already has a leg up on the competition.

But the difference is pretty negligible. So fair enough.

As for the actual deal itself, it's kinda hard to give it a complete grade until you see how the cap space gets used by the TDL. That being said, I doubt Fitz does this unless it's basically free cap space and he's confident it would in no way impede any other deals to add players in the next few days. More than likely, it helps us maximize our cap space with Jack on LTIR.

I don't care that LaChance's dad works for the Devils - if anything, that is a good thing as it all but guarantees he signs an ELC with NJ. Seems like a late bloomer, which isn't all that uncommon for a guy that size. I like the fact that he's BU's captain this year and previously captained his USHL team to a championship.

I'm content knowing that all of this drama is because Fitz never replaced MM. Right in front of his face for an entire summer and he went with Brett Pesce instead. We just need a 3C, it's that simple. We don't need all of this in-fighting when we have a common solution: thank Fitz for his service and walk him out the door.

From everything I read - nice hands, good physical game, very good net front guy. Even good positionally(thats what I read) but skating isnt good. Im glad we used nothing to take more ready version of what we are trying to find in 3-6 rounds with wasting picks. If it helps to save a pick on the draft and use it for drafting one more center - I will be happy.
