Lol at some people acting like they are playing 4D chess with the Jack injury. Them making this trade pretty much guarantees he's done for the regular season at a minimum (as expected).

They got a prospect for the bottom-6 who turns pro next year for ~140k. That is cheaper than a 6th rounder costs in cash normally through trade

So he quite literally got better than a 6th rounder here

They got a high floor, low upside prospect who is close to pro-ready. Last year they got a 4th round pick in a draft 2 years away for taking 25% of Tanev.

Not to mention that deal cost us ~565k for a 4th two years out; this deal is ~150k for a 6th rounder turning pro shortly

I mean we did get a 6th round pick.. but one that is closer to playing in the NHL than any future 6th round pick. So we essentially got a better version of what you are upset we didn't get.

Huh? I'm not upset, just a weird "deal". That said, the former 6th round pick thing is a silly argument. A future 6th is at least a lotto ticket for, say, a Jesper Bratt. Certainly isn't a "better version" vs lotto ticket.

Don't really care though. Just seems odd.
