What mess? Mercer and Meier not showing up the whole season is a problem for those two, we know they can be better and they absolutely should be better. Palat is doing fine all things considered. Sucks that Haula chose now to become old and washed but sometimes shit happens, we'll get another guy and go from there.

Palat is doing fine? In what world, man? You can't shit on Timo and then give Palat a pass for making 2M less than him and being an anchor to the first line. Timo, at the worst, is creating chances and doing other shit. It's the same shit people said about 22-23 Haula not being able to finish and then when he started to do so in the 2nd half/playoffs, he became a folk hero here. Mercer is mediocre and is living off of one month in 2023 of great goal scoring. Haula has always been this, there's a reason why he's never fully latched on anywhere in his career. The GM gives out term like candy to washed players or mercenaries and then wonders why the same said players can't continue what they're doing.

Watching people overreact over this is hilarious.
Dramma queen squad on position.

We will LTIR Jack, this deal wasnt made "instead", it was made to help with cap and...

LaChance is Yegorov's team mate now, I think they are watching Yegorov now very closely and they traded for this guy for some reason, even if it is just help for Utica squad. Not a great deal, but deadline isnt over, its only starting and Im okay to see Fitz in the business where he could still be away from this deal.

I'm not going to argue with you, you're looking for a reason to be mad and nothing I can say will convince you otherwise. Go ahead and blow off your steam. I'll just say that I 100% agree with you on the bolded.

Also there's no doubt in my mind that Fitz himself had nothing to do with the math of this at all.

Every team has number-crunching data wonks in the front office for cap (and other) purposes. As soon as Jack got hurt they starting crunching numbers to figure out the cap implications of LTIRing him and gave Fitz the info.

Doubt Fitz himself picked up a calculator at all for this.

I'm not trying to be mad if it's coming as that, it's just irritating this team had a tremendous formula and blew it and the GM is absurdly wishy washy based on a singular year's result on the ice as opposed to a 3-5 year projection.

I think you're reading too much into it. It could be spun that Fitz just bought a draft pick to use as an asset soon.

I'm looking forward to seeing which non-prospect we sent to Boston a la Cole Brady in the Chris Tanev trade last year.
If Jack was not done for the regular season, why would we not just keep the cap space and use it for a push?

Lachance is not a bad player to take a shot on, he’s a guy who can probably contribute next year in the bottom six (fourth liner who isn’t a black hole offensively).

With LTIR the cost is essentially nothing for retention.

Its evident he is done, otherwise they dont make this move

Keefe saying we dont know yet means we dont know the specifics to announce a timeline; something you need when putting him on LTIR

They know hes out until the playoffs; its whether hes back for them or not
