Tom is gonna do something stupid and go after Marchessault. Another aging and slow player with a contract that is too long.

The Devils just traded salary cap space for a 21 year old still playing college hockey.

Anyone who isn't on the fire fitzgerald train now better hop the f*** on.

Or youre just emotional and refusing to let reality be of use

Edit: seems many here are. Take a break from the team
I'm dying for you to explain the reality of literally giving a team $2.3m of valuable cap space so that Fitz could bring in a 21 year old college hockey player who's the son of one of his friends.

I don't need to take a break from the team because I'm critical of the oaf that's speedrunning the next edition of the Devils tank-a-thon.

What? How could anyone possibly twist this trade positively😂. There’s no reason to not be upset about this.
I’m not upset, just resigned…I’d rather Fitz wave the white flag than go all in on a stupid long term deal, this team hardly deserves the all in strategy, especially if there’s still a chance Jack misses the rest of the year or would just be playing hurt again in a foolish playoff charge.

If they are brokering deals, that has to mean Jack is out for the year

Off the top of my head, Toronto brokered some deals to grind out some assets while still being in a playoff spot.

2021 6th round pick with meh college numbers at BU lol

(not that I expect anything good to eat salary, but why are we eating salary)

One more point than Cole Eiserman! I thought I had read some positive things about Lachance a few months back. Not expecting him to be a world beater, but the trade essentially is Lachance for Hauser and less than 300K in actual dollars.

So the Devils turn a 2022 5th round pick into a 2021 6th round pick and they spent cap space to do it?

This is bizarre.

Lachance is having a fine enough year in college but he’s already 21. He’s basically the same age as Hauser.

I don’t see either of them play enough to hold an informed opinion but the number for both don’t scream future NHL player.

Why would you spend cap space to swap one likely AHL guy for another?

We barely have enough room for our own deadline additions, the only way we are adding other teams' salary is if Jack is going on LTIR

Trade itself is whatever. Lachance has 52 points in 72 games for BU, probably ends up as an AHL forward but we need those. Hauser is basically a nothing and I doubt he's ever coming over to NA.
