Meh I would be patient. He was fantastic last year and had his confidence shaken this season after recovering from an injury over the summer.

He’s getting better and better with each game. Had the highest xGF% of any defenseman last night by a decent margin.

Defensemen take a long time to bake, especially guys who aren’t elite skaters like Makar and Hughes.
Agreed. I would not be giving up on Nemec yet.

Last season was very encouraging. This season he is injured right before training camp, is behind the 8-ball in terms of fitness off the bat, and than also has to catch up adjusting to a new system/coach.

Elaborate on this.
The league as a whole was slower and there was more thugishness. He's said multiple times how hard it is to play in the NHL and in context I think he means being able to stand up to the physical punishment not that you need great skill. It works when picking defenders because modern defense favors guys with long frames that cover space and have a wider radius with longer arms but I'm thinking that's just happenstance. At forward I have no idea what they are doing. No centers and they aren't picking high ceiling guys it's just mystifying to me. They have a seeming blind spot when it comes to skating as well. Hopefully Hameenaho can overcome it but the league overall is just getting faster and faster.

Nemec losing ample time with the shoulder he f***ed up in September + playing in a slower system where his defensive mistakes are more glaring is what is leading to this. We shat on Lindy profusely but he knows how to develop dmen. Brian Campbell, John Klingberg, Fox/DeAngelo when he was in NY as a D coach. I'm whatever on him, you can trade him but get actual value from him and not some stupid ass trade for the sake of doing it.

Another forward drafted by Shero.

Insane the offensive talent pool he put together and how horrible Fitzgerald has been since.
even more impressive when you compare shero's first day with fitz's. man, lou sucks lol

Elias has 78 points in 81 games in 2011-12. So yes, 8 pts in 24 playoff games is bad and "not consistent" (meaningless word salad, what does this even mean?)
He had a great regular season but Elias was 36 years old at the time. Just stop.
I already showed you stretches of Parise and Zajac in their "prime" (again, meaningless word salad) in 11-12 where they went 15 games without putting up good numbers.
You did?
At the start of 2010-2011, Kovalchuk had a stretch of 6 pts in 21 games and 9 pts in 25. (SOURCE Ilya Kovalchuk 2010-11 Game Log | Hockey-Reference.com)
Hilarious that this was the one season where he and the team absolutely sucked for half the season. I bet that was the worst stretch of his career up to that point.

Again, your notion is false. Why do you keep doing this? All players have stretches of struggles. EVERY one.
Yeah man, like all teams have stretches of poor results for two months.

Man, I was already feeling pretty down with the way the team was playing. Didn’t think I could get any more down, and we lose Jack.

This is honestly depressing.

After a sad nights sleep, I think Fitz should buy/swing for even more. Losing Jack sucks but acquiring the right talent to supplant Nico, Jesper, and Timo imo is an enough to keep us where we are at. Timo needs to go full March Madness mode though too.

No seriously, though. Shero was godawful at constructing a blueline, worse than Fitz is at making a supporting forward group. It's no accident that not a single one of his guys is still with us. That and loyalty to the bald man is why he's not here anymore.

I'd push back at Fitz not thinking we need skill, but guys like Matt Tkachuk don't grow on trees.

Every time I see my tattoo I'm going to rain down many blows on it.

I’m not worried that this is going to be a yearly occurrence. These have been kind of freak plays. I am worried about whether all these injuries have a compounding effect of limiting his ceiling of what he can be as a player.
I and some others used that argument for Nolan Patrick too fwiw…a lot of his injuries happened the way Jack’s have now. I didn’t think they were really a big deal because they weren’t sign of a chronic issue but at a certain point it’s a big deal regardless. It changes the way you play and think.

yes, I did:
Bratt has 21 pts in the last 20 games, including a streak of 10 games in a row.

Why are you yapping like this guy is scoring like a 4th liner? Good god man.

Travis Zajac in 11-12 had a 15 game stretch where he put up 2 goals and 6 pts. Travis Zajac 2011-12 Game Log | Hockey-Reference.com

Zach Parise in 11-12 had a 15 game stretch where he had 7 points in 15 games. Zach Parise 2011-12 Game Log | Hockey-Reference.com

That is just with a quick search. These things are easily looked up. Why do you keep just saying them as if they are factual?
