I really don’t understand why Stillman, Brennan and Casey were all called up (especially the former). I get Brennan is a placeholder and the organization likely wants Daws to play until the break is over.

Keefe already admitted a significant part of this is roster and cap management so is this the precursor for an imminent trade? Give me McCann or Bjorkstrand and I’ll be elated.

In regard to trade moves Fitz may make , I think it will be for someone we didn’t expect / wasn’t really rumoured to be available . Someone like Tuch ( just an example ) . Someone with term left in their contract . I can’t see Futz making a trade for a rental ( unless it’s just a depth move for the bottom 6 like Evans)
I can’t see him giving up major assets on a rental like Nelson . It would be for someone with term left or confident he can resign the player before he gives up any significant assets .
Why'd you have to say Tuch? Now that you said it, I expect it and you said it will be someone we don't expect. Great job....

Mcann for what? Gotta be a Mercer or similar player going the other way, no?

Yes. I would be very surprised if there isn't a trade in the next 3 days. I cannot see the logic to calling up these players otherwise, they are the highest salary players available for the Devils to call up, and is the precursor to Siegenthaler to LTIR-new player added to the roster.

What is this in reference to?

Say his name and he appears! I believe in Luke Hughes! *clap clap*

Thats right! And the what's wrong with me part is poor vision lmfao; but it did feel fitting, at least! Cant say we got very far though

My fingers dont remember legos being as harsh as a kid; ill always be a Lincoln Log guy!

This sounds like K'Nex erasure to me, bucko

why would it rule out a trade? There wouldn't be any announcement on anything until tomorrow. I would imagine the league told the GMs not to announce anything during this tournament.
The call ups the other day could have been to maximize cap space being taken up, then LTIR for Siegs to maximize the overage allowed, and then trade utilizing that overage to help fit everyone.

Sending the guys back down means that idea isn’t what the plan is.

If the Devils do put Siegs on LTIR, it’s likely a trade is coming right behind it.

I meant more or less in reference to the players called up/sent down. We all know a trade is coming. But I didn't know if these transactions had to do with it.

Technically there was a trade during the tournament (not by us), there wasn't an actual roster freeze and I doubt Jack or Bratt would have been going anywhere regardless.

Stillman and Brennan sent back. Daws back up

Huh, maybe they called them up because Utica had a game last night and they didn't want to take anyone who would play off the current roster, but why not just call nobody up? They needed a goalie, couldn't they just sign an ATO and let a guy off the street do it? Still doesn't explain why they wouldn't call up e.g. Filmon to save money, they've cost themselves a few thousand dollars on the cap which might matter (these dollars could be good if LTIR is later used, they could've bought themselves a few thousand dollars' worth of space).

He works hard.. so does a washing machine. Time to cut bait, thanks Fitz!
They can cut him but it's hard to see any trade for him returning anything. Hopefully Fitz learned from this selection but he's still got a bit of blind spot for how skill and will work in prospects in my view.
