Oof.lol from that same article for coach who'd you like least to play for:
Lindy Ruff got a handful of votes, too.
"I just think he's too old,” a player said. “I don't think he understands the game anymore. That's what I hear from the guys that play for him, that he just doesn't know what's going on most of the time."
Wonder which guys on the Devils spread that hahah
NHL player poll: Best/worst facilities? NBA-style tournament? Season too long? Should Bettman retire?
The Athletic polled 111 players on eight questions covering a variety of topics, granting them anonymity so they could speak freely.www.nytimes.com
Sharangovich would be one of them for sure. I think he liked an IG post announcing his firing on a hockey news account.lol from that same article for coach who'd you like least to play for:

I corrected the quote for you.lol from that same article for coach who'd you like least to play for:
Lindy Ruff got a handful of votes, too.
"I just think he's too old,” a player, who would neither confirm nor deny that he is a 26 year old Swiss third line center, said. “I don't think he understands the game anymore. That's what I hear from the guys that play for him, that he just doesn't know what's going on most of the time."

Serves me right for not watching the last couple, appreciate the correction.Dillon's been predominantly with Pesce the past couple games. Hamilton with Sieg's. Obviously the injury last night screwed that up.
Meh results for Sieg's-Hams.
If it was me we definitely call up Nemec as he is begging to be called up & is the best player available we can bring up. Perhaps he regains his form from last year & becomes a beast. Huzzah for the devils!
Winnipeg being #1 doesn't surprise me. I've been to a lot of cities and I can't imagine living there. I like the cold but I don't want to have to walk underground because it's that cold. It's gloomy and gray. It's a dump and there was nothing redeeming about any of it. I'd never go back.
Archive.phAny way to get that article without having to pay??
Gotta save cap space. Can’t wait for Colton White to get the call instead of Nemec
I’d like to say this probably won’t be the case because it’s an every night player that got hurt and not Nick DeSimone, who had been in the scratchbox or AHL all year. Can’t wait for Colton White to get the call instead of Nemec
Bjorkstrand is a really interesting target to me. I think Trotz has basically said he doesn't want to trade ROR.Looking at the trade market I can’t help but think Fitzgerald is likely going to be going off the board with his trade targets.
The rental market looks bleak. The prices are a bit crazy and the Devils don’t have cap space or assets to be in on some of these guys.
Fitzgerald loves his cheap depth guys with term (Cotter, Lazar) so I wonder if he’s scouring that market again. I feel like the forward addition is also going to be someone with some term (McCann, O’Reilly, Rakell, Bjorkstrand).
Tatar being a part of a deal for cap reasons just seems like a given at this point. I also wonder if Bastian gets moved in a lateral deal for a similar player. It seems like both he and Lazar have fallen off hard but Lazar at least provides faceoff utility.
Keefe is such a dramatically better systems coach than Ruff, it's not even funny. That quote from the Athletic article is hilarious. I've been maybe the top Ruff hater since he was hired, so I'll take shamelessly take some vindication.
