We will probably end up with Evans or Frederic. Either way I will be okay with that.

Boeser scores goals but he does not play center. It would likely keep Haula at 3C when he is back. I would trade Casey for Boeser stragiht up 1 for 1 If Vancouver retained since he is a pending UFA. But a 3C would be fine as well.
I wouldn't mind Evans given he is a player we could resign for a 4-5 year term and could be a legit 3C. Also has been averaging around 3 mins of PK time the last 3 seasons - could be a good option there. If we could add a top 6 forward, we could potentially run a Meier-Evans-Mercer third line but not sure we would give up assets for two big additions.

The Devils would be right in dumping Palat, Haula, Tatar and Bastian. The reason they won't is because they are flush with pucks at the moment.

Casey for Boeser 1 for 1. Vancouver retains 50% (approx 3 mill). We might have to add a pick.
Send a 2nd rounder and a 4th to Montreal for Jake Evans,
Trade Tatar and a 2nd to a taker for a 6th or 7th in 2027 (this one hurts, especially the 2nd, but is done for cap reasons).

we take 2 2nds and Casey and end up with Evans (with term) and Boeser as a UFA)

Palat-Hughes-Bratt
Noesen-Hischier-Boeser
Meier-Evans-Mercer
Cotter-Haula-Lazar
MacDermid/Bastian(??)

(waive Bastian also if necessary).

I would absolutely not trade Casey for pending UFA Brock Boeser, jfc man

Are we going for it this year or not? Top 6 scoring and bottom 6 grit gives us a good chance. When you are a buyer you have to go for it sometimes. For me Nemec and Silayev are off limits in a deal like these. And who knows, maybe Boeser wuld be keen to the idea of signing with us since the cap will sky rocket.

You have to know that a team we deal with is going to ask for 1 of our 3 defensive prospects if we are getting a top 6 forward.

I’m not sure if we have the assets for two trades by adding a top six player and a third line center. And I think a good third line center is our biggest need.

I truly do not care what teams "ask for", I am not trading Casey for a pending UFA. Any pending UFA.

get 2 middle 6 forwards using other assets.

I can switch the offers if people are hung up on Casey for a UFA.

Casey for Evans
2nd and 4th for Boeser
Tatar and a 2nd for taking him for a 7th.

It is a risk, but it is also Fitz going for it.

Do we really think he would get much of a raise anyways? If he's sub $1.5M I don't see how that is problematic.
I think it’s just time to turn the page on him after this year. I’m sure management feels the same way and if they don’t feel the same way then that would be the first time in 10 years that we retained a 4th line guy past UFA. Other than MacDermid, who I will never back giving a 3 year or any year deal.

But I’m fine with Bastian through the rest of the year. He’s a fine 4th liner. I just see no need or desire to bring him back.

Again, he’s missed close to 40% of the game the last 3 seasons, so he can’t be counted on.

I don't see the issue with him being back, if its at a reasonable salary. He is still an effective player when his line is burdened with players like Dowling and MacDermid that bring nothing offensively.

I get the injuries, but if you have organizational depth and pencil him in as the 13th forward, I think its still worth it.

I think he’d wanna play somewhere else where he’s not the 13th forward.

He’ll likely get several better opportunities.

Hes not going to get a guaranteed role much better than a 4th line situation, I don't think.

I think you can build depth and competition and if he earns the spot, then fine. If not, then is the 13th forward.

He plays a style that can be effective in the playoffs, I still like him and Lazar on the 4th line.

Tatar makes 1.8 mill for a half year there is no universe he costs a 2nd to dump lmao
