A low level, cake eater-type trade won't fix this.

This club has deep structural issues that have lasted for almost a decade, and BIG changes are needed. It's not just the coaching; it's the culture. Someone with an IQ above room temp has to do whatever it takes to turn the tide even if it angers the marks, cuz this club ain't winning crap with this core.

Or maybe I have to move back to Jersey after being away for 12 years.

Even with this horrendous stretch they could have easily won the Ducks Sharks Rangers Panther Toronto Flyers and Sens games.

Team simply needs to return to playing full 60 min hockey like they were doing in December. They need their energy back. If that happens then they will return to at least .600 pts for the rest of the season.

Couple that with one or two shrewd trades and theyll be looking better

Just don't target rentals. Go after some term.

Bjorkstrand, Alex Tuch. Guys like that.
Well if you want term, the guy mentioned a few posts above this has it!

I know people are going to roll their eyes with this but I liked Lou's philosophy on eighteen-month rentals for big name players (a la Gilmour and Mogilny, among others). I also think Fitz doesn't really believe in going for too many rentals either, hell he was targeting Markstrom last deadline. OTOH, a Miller trade would just be putting a bunch of rotten eggs in a basket though rentals aren't ideal unless they're cheap.

Agreed. Even with this tough stretch, they're 2nd in the division and 3rd in the conference. This last stretch has definitely sucked, no question about it. The need a mental reset. Thankfully 2 days of rest should help with that. Rest up, and come back Wednesday with a big game at home.

Sort of feels like a "long break" vibe to me. It could help tremendously. Get 2 days off, win Wednesday, get another 2 days off, win in Montreal, and take off from there.

I have been watching nothing but highlights (even the losses) these days.

I just can't seem to give a sh*t about this team right now with how sh*tty it's performed on the ice.

It's unreal how mediocre-to-bad they have been lately.

Optimum and Cablevision picked a great time to have a **** waving contest, most of this crap I've only seen at the games I've been to. And yes I know there are...ways of watching the game that aren't supposed to be mentioned on the board but their play's not exactly rushing me towards doing that and sitting in front of a computer for three hours. As much as I like Matt and Chico, I'm a bit meh on listening to the radio at this point unless I'm driving.

One things for sure, and maybe I’ll be one of the few, but I’m excited to finally be back on Wednesday. I haven’t been since the home opener, I adore Jacques Lemaire and I have a full in-law Bruins family. I’m ready to see the boys finally erupt and I hope it’s at their expense.

Fitz could target a UFA if they are part of a long term plan. Fitz likes bringing in guys he plans to keep.

Usually (with exceptions like Miller) trades for players with term are hockey trades. Those happen off season. This time of year up until the deadline is usually buyers using picks/players for rentals. So unless Fitz plans an uncharacteristic blockbuster again for a player with term or under team control beyond this year, he might just look in the UFA market to get some scoring depth.

I think they break the skid on Wednesday so that plus the ceremony, you should end up having a great night.

It will be nice to honor Lemaire on Wednesday. I can't remember the last time I have seen any pictire or video of him in the last decade plus. Im expecting him to have us laughing at some point during his speech lol. We could sure use it...

This weekend's games were on a different level from the games before. There were plenty of positives even in those loses you could take. These two games not so much.

But I don't think these games are the least bit representative of the team. They were bad games that they will overcome, hopefully starting on Wednesday.

I am getting to the point where I hope Fitz makes a trade sooner rather then later because we probably could use an extra spark and energy to help reinvigorate the room.

But either way they are going to figure it out

They need a physical reset too. It's clear something has not been right physically with a bunch of guys.

I'm happy they aren't trying to use it as an excuse, but these two days off are really needed. Especially if guys have been throwing up off and on for close to a week now.

The problem is that what was a 10 point difference between us and Carolina two weeks ago is now 1 point. We're also only 7 ahead of Lumbus and they've got 3 games in hand. This needs to be fixed and it needs to be fixed soon.
