Does anyone have that video where Jack Hughes gave an interview to a Chinese reporter in the 2019 preseason, in the runup to the game that they played in China? A cursory search on YouTube and the Devils website haven't surfaced anything. I really wish you could search by year on the latter.

said it before but man does the nhl really need to revamp the schedule. last night had a playoff feel to it for obvious reasons with the bad blood and teams being near the top of the divisions. yet we are done playing them until maybe the playoffs or next year just like with the caps being done since end of nov? but yeah lets make sure we get utah seattle (every western team) in twice a year is just stupid. if playoffs are division heavy then you have to play more games in division/conference

i know people like seeing every team one time but i dunno just disappointing a great game like last night i go to see when we play them next and i didn't see them on the schedule bummer.

Who do we like as adds between now and the deadline? And maybe more importantly, who goes the other way?

I think Fitz changes how he adds at this year's TDL. Taking guys with term with at least 1 year left is usually what he does. I don't think he should do that this year. Not a ton of room for Luke and Johnny K (if we decide to keep him- I would). Allen is a UFA (Haula, Tatar, Bast), what are we doing there as well, I think let the FAs go?

I think Fitz changes how he adds at this year's TDL. Taking guys with term with at least 1 year left is usually what he does. I don't think he should do that this year. Not a ton of room for Luke and Johnny K (if we decide to keep him- I would). Allen is a UFA (Haula, Tatar, Bast), what are we doing there as well, I think let the FAs go?

Well, Taylor Hall is likely on the move and the Hawks have a retention space available. Don't know who a fair comp would be for a trade though.

coming out of the lockout the 06, 07 and 08 seasons sucked to watch. played each team in division 8 times. it got old fast.

There was no video of the postgame interviews up on the Devils youtube page last night and it wasn't posted today either.

They do have the interviews after today's practice up, but I haven't watched any of it yet.

What’s the upside?

For example, Keefe: “yeah Dougie can’t keep food down, has been shitting his brains out, and can’t breathe out of his nose.”

Which corner is Toronto going to dump the puck into tomorrow if given a choice? The side with the defenseman they know isn’t feeling 100% or the side with the defenseman that is feeling fine as far as they know?

We need to add a scoring threat in the top nine and another center who preferably can drive play well, ideally one who would gel better with our bottom six options we have. Depth defenseman may also be a need now that we’ve lost DeSimone.

For the scoring threat, Seattle has a lot of intriguing options in McCann, Schwartz, Bjorkstrand and Tolvanen. Palmieri makes sense too or Nelson who could fulfill both acquiring the C and scoring threat in one.

For the 3C, Gourde is the ideal target. I could see a young RFA eligible center like McLeod or Frost make sense as well depending on the price. Perhaps Fitzgerald goes outside the box for someone with term like O’Reilly. There’s some meat and potatoes guys like Kunin but I don’t think they really improve over Haula/Lazar.

With two additions like the above, we would have tons of flexibility with the lineup below:

Top 9 W/Palat - Hughes - Bratt
Meier - Hischier - Noesen
Top 9 W/Palat - 3C - Mercer
Cotter - Haula - Lazar
Tatar - Dowling - Bastian

Because it's not free. The Devils have a 21 man roster right now (technically 22 because Haula isn't on IR, but they have 21 healthy bodies), they are desperately trying to save space for the deadline, and adding a waiver claim means losing a lot of that space.

And, given this is a "weeks" injury, why isn't he on the IR?
