Wow I didn’t realize Cotter is pointless in his last 14. 1 goal 3 assists over his last 21.

He has definitely faded into the background as of late. I don't think anyone truly believed what he was doing was sustainable, but chipping in some more offense would be nice.

Nico's done this stuff since day 1, it's easy to see why he got the C super early in his career

I remember being so pumped up that he immediately went into the fray in his first game. Nico has always ruled.

Sidenote, god I still want Palms back. I miss that guy so much.

Jack gets ran vs Toronto, Mcdermid gets in the next two games to waste a roster spot and play 5 minutes each night...what a joke.

We should have regular forwards that make a Mcdermid obsolete. Cotter has been invisible, Bastian just sucks, and Noesen thinks he's Phil Esposito now

The ironic part of this too is if their powerplay was somewhat decent in that game after being elite all year, they probably win that game. Same thing with some of the games last year, in particular, the NYR games late last year were the team had 5 min major PP's and did nothing. If teams wanna be cheap, you gotta hurt them big time on the scoreboard. When they know they can do whatever and not have to worry about it is when they do even more devious shit

I'm increasingly concerned about Jake Allen, but Daws was doing very well prior to his own nagging "day-to-day" injury, so it's a wash.

I wonder if they're willing to take it slow with whatever might be nagging him since the schedule has opened up a bit. Plus now they're heading out on the road this week, so maybe just a safe call to keep him back until Saturday when we're back home.

Wonder if they consider throwing Daws a start as well. Markstrom has had a rather light workload over these last few starts, but it can't hurt.

Devils give up 31 combined shots against two of the heaviest opponents in the league

*cue the soft talk*

Can't believe I'm saying this but I do think Jim has a point of playing MacDermid is pointless but I also think it's whatever because they'll wind up adding someone + Lazar would bump him out of the lineup if they were fully healthy anyway. The Devils learned their lesson that tough = fighting but instead actual being a total hockey player.

So Allen is dead? That was probably a matter of time. But hopefully not having a complete gong show defense in front of him for an entire game will help Daws.

Evidently, just state of the union type stuff ahead of the holiday break.
