Yeah I really give two ***** about this tournament 99 times out of 100 but this time I'm glad they managed to win something for the memory of Gaudreau, especially after the horrific four nations loss. Maybe I would feel worse for Switzerland if Nico actually played but he didn't, Timo I could care less about at this point, sorry Siegs but definitely glad USA won.

I think they are stuck with Palat for one more season. Put him on the third line with re-signed Glass and Mercer. Yeah, Glass may be a better center on the 4th line, but give him a shot.
This works if Gritsyuk can play wing in the top six. So there is some wishful thinking with some luck thrown in by not unreasonable. Thoughts?

I wouldn't mind the idea of Glass as a 3rd C if injuries were not a concern. But obviously they are. Need to stack centers in the very real likelihood we have an injury at the position.

As per Palat on the 3rd line, I think 3rd line production was such a concern that I'd be wary of putting Palat there to start next season. Could he be prove sufficient if we added a quality center for that line, and maybe have Grits, or even Meier on the RW? Maybe.

Once you get past Bratt and his 67 assists. Our next leading winger in terms of helpers is Timo with 27. 3rd is Noesen with 19. Fourth is Mercer with 17. Palat is 5th with just 13 assists.

I thought that sounded bad, but I just checked some other teams and the drop offs are pretty similar.

Bratt is an excellent player. His season just shows that unless you know things thr public never learns you can only speculate what’s up with their game.

I don’t trust the people who run USA Hockey to do anything more than build a team that has an excellent chance of getting a silver or bronze medal.

Notice how great the NHL teams those guys run are doing.

He's a damn good player .. doesn't shoot enough though. He was down 68 shots this year from last year. They should ask him to fire the puck more .. try to get him up to around 250 shots. He'd be a 30+ goal guy on the regular.

Looking at the Team USA picture I noticed that ex-Utica and NJ Devil, Kevin Dean, was an Asst. Coach for Team USA.

I am hoping that Harris is not done with the Devils trying to get a winner this coming season and the next. He and his various ownership groups have had success with his World Soccer team winning the league, and his first year with the NFL Washington Commanders success leaving the Philly 76ers a loser and the NJ Devils struggling to get past round 1 in the playoffs. I just hope he give Fitz the money and direction to build a Cup winner. I do not want to see a new owner come in and have to become familiar with the team or Harris and Company deciding to let the NJ Devils just rot at the same level until they sell.

At least Harris and Blitzer are in the business of collecting and running teams. They aren’t just owning the team as a vanity project where it’s easy to get bored.
