Presumably they sign some sort of one or two year deal when he's an RFA without arbitration rights. While they will have to offer him something above what he'd make playing in Europe, he'll be relatively inexpensive and still offer upside. I don't think playing him higher in the lineup this last stretch of games necessarily defines him for next season. That said, it's not a bad idea to put him for a couple of games with higher skill guys to see what might work.

It just doesnt make any sense to me to put Zacha at center, where hes less productive, and keep JBo on the third line. We need to pump up Zachas stats if hes getting moved in the offseason, and hes way more productive on the wing. Meanwhile, it would be nice to get as much of a look at JBo as possible. Give him top 6 minutes. I hate this coaching staff.

I'd love to see Nico replicate his goal against the Stars a few more times. Love seeing those crazy individual effort plays from our star players.

The (unfair) knock against Nico has been that he can't take over a shift like that and singlehandledly change the course of a game, the way that guys like Hughes can. But that goal showed that he can do it.

Do you go all out and let Boquist spend two games with Shara and Bratt and play Nico with Zacha and Mercer? Do you play Shara Nico and Bratt and give Boquist a look with Zacha and Mercer? I'm not against giving him a couple of games in a top six role but realistically he's a third line player who can maybe play up in the case of injury. He's not done developing so we can see what happens next year but it's hard to see him as a fixture ahead of any of the current top six guys. There is room for one more winger but I'm not sure a player of his profile is what they are looking for there.

I honestly dont really see much in him. I think we sign a vet 3C in the offseason. He should be given heavy minutes to make a case though.
