Jack Hughes got absolutely spanked that period. Out-attempted 12-1, 4-1 HD chances. The matchups are making it very tough, good to see someone else step up.

Nothing about that period makes me believe this team is coming back in this series.

It’s so goddamn frustrating seeing them stubbornly try to make slick passes in the d zone despite mountains of pressure. You’d think they’d stop making stupid risky pond hockey plays in their own end after the 20th time they got burned on it by the canes.

Wow…..elimination playoff game and they decide to not skate or do anything they were told about how to play ( intense , het on the right side of the puck , win board battles , take care of the puck and make good, smart reads )
That did not look like a team that needs to play a desperate game to avoid elimination ….

It looks like a regular season game on a Tuedsday in Columbus

Well, I have a lot more confidence in Akira than in Vitek, he's so much more calm. Hopefully he can work on his athleticism during this off-season. Timo continues with the physicality and had a wonderful pass for Mercer. It't not a great period, they need to clear the puck better, but it wasn't awful in the second half and we're ahead.
Hopefully the extended break did him good after he played like seven high pressure games in the space of two weeks.

After Jack Hughes the player that gives me the most hope of creating a scoring chance when breaking out is McLeod. I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing.
Because he has one direction and that's straight ahead. He's not going to pull up or look to go east-west. Whether or not the chance he creates is actually any good, at least you know where he's going with the puck.

The entire lineup would benefit greatly from taking a page out of his book.

Graves is one of the most infuriating players I can remember. He shouldn't suck. He shouldn't be so god damn soft. He shouldn't just stand below the goal line with the puck and wait until there's pressure. He sucks.
