It's clear that we cannot continue building the team with the assumption that Laine is a top 6 winger.

I've seen quite a few people wanting to trade Dach away, but I don't see how you can do that when it leaves you with Laine and Newhook on the second line. Dach is a better option than both of those two right now and likely going forward.

I expected 2nd line production from him in his first NHL and north american season. 60 points would be great. Don’t expect him to push us to contention from the get go.

Once he gets in his 20s and if he establish himself into a star first liner, it’s another game.

When Dach is on he's fantastic. It's too early to know who is the real Dach. When Laine came into the league the two were playing solid hockey. I still think I would move him back with Caufield and Suzuki, as that line has also fell asleep. I really think Laine should be in the press box. he's worse than michael ryder the hot dog man.

It's not lack of surrounding skill level hampering Laine right now. His problems are directly his own. He's still not right from not playing hockey for over a year and the nasty injury to his knee. He's just not playing well period.

He's not. But Suzuki and Caufield help each other out. Caufield wouldn't be as successful if he were playing with Evan's and Armia.

Lookong forward to Demidov - and Laine having more reps under his belt - and we'll see if HuGo bring in a 2c like Cozens by next season.

Even after they have two days rest, there is no energy or urgency in their game

We have seen his before, Armia, Anderson, Laine, Dach, Slaf, Dvorak, etc etc are not pushback players. Its who they are not fatigue

I think that's fair. If Laine panes out and ends up on the 3rd line for a WC push next year that would be great. One thing is for sure, Laine is no Monahan.
