Very very high difference in defensive zone with Victor Mete. Despite his size, he is physical aswell.

The most impressive thing so far it's his defensive ability.

Imagine in 2-3 years, he is going to be better in his own zone!

...it's Marty's job to get the team to play to their stregths...Man-on-Man is not one of them...no structure in the defensive zone...that's coaching...

They had structure when players were playing closer to their right chairs and the team played great for two months. The fact this has changed points to problems with depth, not the coach. Marty is such an easy scapegoat.

There's no way Monty could have saved the Bratt shot, but on a shift where the team was struggling, the puck bounced to the short slot with no Devils players around within 5 feet, and instead of jumping on the puck to get a stoppage, he bats the puck into the corner.

Watch the replay, he does this like 5 seconds before the goal when the team is tired & New Jersey is mid-change. Like Price & even Dobes try to get the team a stoppage there, Montembeault forces the play to continue.

He does it all the time, and it really pisses me off about him. Create a stoppage, dude! Like f***!!!!
