GDT: Devils @ Blue Jackets 7:00 PM EST (

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server

We had more good chances that missed the net than the number of actual shots on goal we have to this point.

During the intermission I might dive into the shooting stats and see where the Devils rank as far as actually getting their attempted shots on net. Seems to me to many players who can’t hit the corners are trying to hit the corners. Just aim for the middle of the net.

Of course that could very well be observer bias.

I'd say this team should always just shoot on odd man rushes because they can't complete a pass, but they would miss the net with the shot anyways.

Ok, if it makes you guys feel any better I was lurking on the Canucks board yesterday and someone made the comment “if the net was eight feet tall we’d be the best team in the league.” LOL. I was like ok so we’re only team.

If this period was any indication it looks like we might be catching the shutout bug from them.

Granted, the goalie has hardly had to do anything. We had 3 good chances go wide in the first 7 minutes and another on the power play. Do we even have 4 shots on goal?

Maybe we'll come out on the right end of one of these low scoring, no event snoozefests again like we did in Philly.
