Also the night Brian Burke’s son died. Only reason I remember that was because we played the Leafs the next night and I wondered if they would do a moment of silence for him. I don’t think they did but the next night the Leafs played home on HNIC and they held the moment.

Side note the game included the best comeback I’ve seen live for Kovy’s debut. I even saved the ticket lol

Ugh...this hurts every time I remember it... we left right before the Mcammond goal...we were on the escalator and thought about going back...we didnt. got to the car turned on the radio and the Pando goal was happening. So upset with myself lol

I love reliving the memory. Parents had a weekend plan with my friend’s parents and had the ticket for that game available. I was in school in Baltimore and a major snow storm was coming. I decided, f*** it, it’s Kovy’s first game. Went to my 9 AM class that day and booked it home after that. Beat the storm out and saw that incredible game.

Trav’s goal was my favorite. That infamous slapper he rarely breaks out.

And man I loved Dean McAmmond that year for us.

Went back and watched the highlights. Can confirm social conditioning works since the bottom stripe on the jersey now looks weird to me.

Don't care. Still not buying one of these crappy regular Adidas home/away jerseys.

Couple things about that video: One, wow the game has changed and gotten so much faster. Two, LOL at Zharkov on the powerplay. And three, I remember how much we were all clamoring for more puck moving defensemen in those days, hah. Be careful what you wish for, the universe has a big sense of humor.

What a great year. Was crushed when we lost Game 6 but a lot of great memories.

I'd love to see them go with the original template but black instead of green. With a couple of changes. I'd swap the red and black on the white jerseys so it'd be black shoulders instead of red. Also black helmets instead of red with the red uniforms
