He's not the only one. This team is seriously lacking the elite finish. Hall has it on and off, but he's a little more off this year as well, but its hard to compare against an MVP season.

The only guy we can say reliably his shots are Palms, but he goes by volume, and he tends to shoot even in bad angle situations when maybe he should have found better options..

yea but people still want to draft playmakers /shrug

Anyone who was watched the 2nd line the past 2 games should be able to tell it's only a matter of time before they produce.

They are dominating out there. Something called patience and some of you don't have it.

Just saw erikas Instagram live from the end of the game and shootout last night. While idk what Amanda or the other one who tweets more about the mets does, but its pretty cool to basically get a front row seat behind the goalie.
While every goalie is different in what they do when their team is taking their shot in the shootout (some stand by the side, some skate back and forth, etc), I've never seen a goalie skate to the boards then loop behind the net and just lean on the back of their net watching their team shoot... that's what kk does.

They are, but you do have to produce, and that is a running concern for Zacha, which is really who we are talking about when discussing the lack of production from the 2nd line.

What I don't get is the people who don't see the potential in Zacha. Yes he's frustrating because he only shows flashes, but there are games, like Washington early in the year, or the Vegas game where he creates opportunities galore.

Generally speaking your posts have a negative tone to them so the positivity with regard to Zacha was surprising.
I dont think so - it may come off that way over the last month and a half because of the teams play and my disdain for the coaching staff - but I like to think Im a generally positive person, maybe I havent displayed that on jere

When it comes to the youth of the team I remain positive until im shown otherwise. Zacha at 21 has the defensive game of a veteran and his tenacity and willingness to go to the dirty areas is rising. Sure, Bratt and Johansson/Coleman arent the worst linemates but Couturier didnt sprout offensively until his fifth year IIRC.

I see Zacha producing 40 as early as next season, so I dont think thats his peak

they should hope to pick 1st or 2nd this year.
This team is finishing outside of the bottom-7, so a top 5 pick is not happening

It took going 19 in 25 to be 8 points out, the team wont lose that much in the 2nd half idt.

And if they do, well just more proof that Shero may not know how to fire a coach

If Tarasenko was on the table to the Devils, how high would the 1st round pick be before New Jersey would rather have the pick?
Just curious why St. Louis would consider trading him. Is it because he has an NMC kicking in over the summer? With the way salaries are going IMO he is on a great contract.

We've had a pretty brutal schedule to start this season. We're done with Tampa, Nashville and Winnipeg, the top 3 teams in the league imo.
19/31 (61%) thus far has been against teams currently in the playoffs. Also 17 road games and 14 home games. It eases up after christmas.

Dec25-Jan31: 7/15 against playoff teams
Feb: 5/14
Mar1-apr6: 9/18
Total: 21/47, 44%

If we could've picked up a few more points in those ot games and be a little above .500. But I think it's gonna be hard to leapfrog all those teams in the standings. But not impossible.
We'll probably just destroy the tank and end up picking around 10th-12th, though.

This team got the shit kicked out of it by bubble teams and possible draft lottery teams lol. IDK why people are gonna act like our issue was just the top teams in the league when we had issues with Ottawa and Detroit.

Probably top ten solely because the Devils don't really need Tarasenko.

I don't see us giving up the assets it'll take to get him because we're much better off saving them and going after a defender.

yea but people still want to draft playmakers /shrug

We have way too many playmakers, as their first instinct. Bratt, Zacha, Mojo, Zajac (although he's maybe a 50/50 guy). Nico and Hall tend to be 50/50 guys but will try to pass first if push comes to shove. Who am I missing..... Coleman, Palms and Wood are shoot first guys. Seney seems like a shooter, but hard to say with the ice time....

We haven't had an elite finish since ......... #17............. maybe as fans even spoiled by it even. Doesn't mean we can't cater to get someone with an elite shot either drafting or through acquisition. I'd say we have a team mostly made up by playmakers (including Hall), except for Palms being the guy who wants to shoot it every time.

It would be nice to have someone who puts the fear of God into the goalies when they come down the ice or get into a good shooting spot. Palms is good, but not THAT good....

yea i was implying that we need shooters, and not playmakers and the majority of this board has some fetish for playmakers even though our team is full of them.
