Boucher has always had the shot, but what's impressed me the most lately has been his passing ability. He looks so much more complete than he was just a few months ago. He's looking like a really good complementary middle 6 player.

We are in pretty good shape going forward if Boucher and Blandisi are the real deal.
If they can both be 40 point guys, that is huge for our secondary scoring.

Add in Palmieri, Henrique, Zajac, Cammalleri we have 6 of our top 9 in place.
(Can't stress how important it was to get Palmieri, him alone sped up our rebuild)

We need 2 of the following 3 to pan out and be top 9 players (Zacha, Quenneville, Wood) with Zacha hopefully topping out as a first liner.

1 of the following could also surpise as well (Coleman, Pietela, Speers, Kerfoot)
That's

That leaves DSP, Kalinin and Josefson as 4th liners who can potentially step up to 3rd line.

Getting rid of garbage like ruutu, tootoo, gionta, kennedy, sislo, etc will be addition by subtraction.
Filling in from within feels good and it hasn't happened here in a long time.

I'm happier with Bouch now than I am with Blandisi.

Blandisi has been neutered and off his game since the suspension.
It will be very good for his development when he gets back to Albany on April 10.

Bouch has to work on his skating this offseason and also improve in the defensive end, especially in taking passes along the boards and then clearing the zone.

He as already improved in finding the soft sports and shooting lanes in the O zone.

While Blandisi is not putting up points, his speed, playmaking ability, and backchecking have been nice to watch. It really seems like we have a special player on our hands. Give him the rest of the season, offseason, and then camp going into next year and I think we'll be very happy with him.

Remember when most of the board wrote Boucher off as early as three months ago?

I never understood that considering his age and skill. Any scrub with a modicum of offensive talent everyone here wants, but Boucher was considered a non entity. Granted I had my doubts after a dip last year but it was always way too soon to dismiss the kid as a potential factor. Especially when he played well in camp and Albany this fall and people were STILL naysayers.

Yep, and more time in Albany next month should help too.

He has to learn another move though aside from the backhand spin.
It's not fooling anyone anymore.

I wasn't very vocal about it, but I was starting to doubt that Boucher could be an everyday player because there was not much improvement from one call up to the next. I'm glad he finally made a big jump forward, still a long way to go for him though. Hopefully he carries this momentum to a good full year next year.

I swear I was going to post something similar to this last night and direct it at you.

After guys like Tedenby, and Josefson didn't pan out exactly as fans hoped, Boucher looked like he could of been heading in the same direction, though Josefson at least found a little niche, despite not being very offensively productive. All of them initially impressed when just jumping over to the NHL. It's just nice to see Boucher gaining confidence and really looking like a guy that will make a nice impact on the Devils going forward. The Devils really needed him to be that to speed up this rebuild. Devils can become a competitive playoff team in the very near future. Next year is a real possibility.

Good to see Elias back.

I think the question with Boucher was did he have the hockey sense to make up for his poor skating.

He has definitely answered that one.

Just met Bryce Salvador where I work. He's in our cafeteria doing a benefit for spinal cord injury.

That's cool of him to be doing that. I hope he's doing well.

He looks great...Extremely nice guy. I was having lunch with a friend and I look over a couple of tables over ad he's just sitting there on a laptop. In a corporate cafeteria, your fist thought isn't Pro athlete...But I said to my friend I'm pretty that is Bryce. He said no way that guy is too small to be Salvador LOL.

Yeah, he looks like he's doing well there, and everybody who has met him has said he's a great guy. Must have been really neat to see him where you wouldn't expect to:D
