Post-Game Talk: Detroit wins Game 3 3-1

Toews MIA??? **** off. Do you even watch the games? Toews is going to the tough areas in front of the net, battling against the Zetterberg line all game long, and is getting cross-checked, hit after the whistle, etc. and battling through it.

Get a ****ing clue, please.

Agreed. I look at the history of these 2 teams from 1962-present, our SC in 2010, and am not disappointed. No sarcasm. :)

Everyone can come up with their own reasons why the Hawks are down 2-1 but in the end it comes down to a couple of bounces here and there if you ask me. Jimmy Howard is pulling a Mike Smith in this series, basically. When you go on the road and are the better team in 2 out of 3 periods, you have to be relatively satisfied. Hawks made some serious mistakes in the 2nd period but they were also pretty unlucky in this game.

Look at that 3rd period. Wings had 1 chance and it was a half-chance for anyone not named Pavel Datsyuk. The Hawks absolutely shelled Howard and got 1 goal and 1 goal taken away from that period. That is NHL hockey. You have two good teams and one of them has to lose and sometimes the better team loses.

Yea. Toews is getting violated without lube out there and the refs aren't giving him any calls. Bickell can cross check and go to the box, but apparently it's open season on Toews.

Side note: I had hopes that Shaw would be Dave Bolland 2.0 at some point, but he's starting to look more like Daniel Carcillo 2.0. Discuss.

Yep. I thought the Hawks played a fairly good game overall. Three posts doesn't happen very often. I like their chances in Game 4.

Of course, most everyone else will probably be panicking.

EDIT: Forgot to mention the terrible no-goal call.

The Stalberg/Shaw goal that was dissallowed was *********, killed the momentum after Kaner's goal.

Toews is big time MIA. Horrible.

First, you would have thought with the Detroit fans they a.) won the series b.) played a great game. Get a grip, it's game three, do we really need to be singing half way through the third and throwing stuff on the ice every whistle. I'm happy Detroit wants to turn it into a dirty series. Vancouver tried that for three years. Get the team emotionally engaged, they'll regret it later. I still take Chi in 6. I loved their battle at the end. They were letting it be known they are gonna go to war. Shaw, props to him. Kid battles and gets jobbed by the refs on two bs penalties. Slash, garbage call. Interference, even bigger job call. Hawks need to switch up the lines.

0 goal in 8 games is pretty bad. sorry but it is.

You guys still have this series IMO

We've seen the best of the wings already this series and we haven't seen close to the best of the Hawks

Possibly but look at that first penalty on Shaw. He & Brenden Smith were chopping, whacking, hitting each other and Shaw was the only one to go to the box, coincidentally it was after the Hawks first PP of the game. It was a horrible call to send Shaw & not Smith. And then later in the game Smith gives a few cross checks to Shaw after the whistle but Shaw gets sent off for hitting Howard in the ****ing leg pads looking for a rebound. I mean, utterly pathetic.

Howard played well enough to win tonight but he isn't the reason Detroit won. He had a very easy 39 save performance, maybe 2 or 3 tough saves.

0 goal in 8 games is pretty bad. sorry but it is.

Anze Kopitar must be pretty bad too because he went something like 19 games without a goal this year.

Fact is, sometimes the goals don't go in. Toews is contributing and working harder than anyone out there and is taking a beating for it. And yet he still goes out there and continues to go to the places where he is getting pummeled.

This had to have been one of the most frustrating hockey games I've ever watched. 3 posts and a disallowed goal. The PP was garbage and the third goal Crawford gave up was a huge momentum killer, but at least the Hawks came out ready to play.

I know it's the playoffs and things get heated, but the Hawks have to chill out with some of the dumb penalties. And I hate to complain about the refs, but now I can understand why Toews was pissed off after Game 2.

Time for a little rant, boys. Bare with me, if you will.

It's evident Babcock has zeroed in on Toews as a guy he wants to eliminate from the game. That means that Hossa, Saad, Kane, and Sharp have to step up. Sharp has been good, Saad brings energy and no production, Hossa is pretty average, and Kane has not been that great this series.

The Blackhawks have to be physical. They showed fight in the third, but it has to be controlled. Detroit gets away with a lot. This is an unwritten hockey code since Stevie Y's stupid ass showed up. It's time they adapt to the adversity and not lose control. The penalties by Keith and Handzus tonight were so untimely.

Revamp the power play as much as possible over the next two off days. Leddy needs to QB this thing like he's Aaron Rodgers... or Dan Marino. Fine, Dan Marino. The Hawks want to dump-and-chase. It doesn't work if you can't fetch the biscuit from behind the net. They suck at entering. That means offensive draws to work the original setup loom large. Performances at the dot like tonight are disgraceful.

Let's hope Q gets a hefty fine tonight. The referees aren't why we lost, but they didn't help. They borderline lost us the game. I'll take the high road and not make a convenient excuse for why my team lost (officiating).

This series is not over. It's not ****ing done. We can do this.

It's sucked so bad, for so long that I think it's beyond help.

I agree with you re the refs...they certainly didn't help but there were other reasons we lost.

Please let's not start sounding like the Canucks fans.
