We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.
What This Means for You:
- If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.

Why do they act like they've never seen a scheme like this before? Every game against Carolina is exactly the same. You have to force the issue or they will happily bleed out the entire game.

I don’t think you saw the fan reaction at the deadline, every site or social media was not happy with yzerman. The YouTube presser he was getting lit up in the comments. Maybe illitch wont have him on the hot seat but the fans are getting to that point of calling for a firing. Frankly im with them, something needs to change, we are worse than the dead wings at this point. No Original 6 franchise should be okay with being bad this long.

I agree with the needs to add a few players specifically on defence but Yzerman is not on the hot seat. Just because "fan" timeline isn't being met doesn't mean much. Chris not firing Steve after going all out to bring him in. Don't want to go back to a gm who thinks it's okay to cap tied and mediocrity. I don't even count the first 3 years Yzerman was here.
Those rosters were disgusting and clearly meant to be a time to accumulate prospects.
No free agent in the last two summers will help us beat Carolina. That goes double for trading 1sts or top prospects for jobbers like Carlo/Laughton types.
Not the team yet where we can just throw picks at these kinda players. Making moves the barely moves the floor is nonsensical. Would have been extra shambolic had we got stamkos or someone in the summer.
Yzermans tenure outside of the good amateur scouting looks exactly like how hollands did before he left. No clue why people say they don’t want to go back to holland, Yzermans moves the past couple years have been holland esq! He learned under holland! Signing guys like holl are holland type moves.
Comparing someone who inherited Bowman's team to someone who inherited Hollands is sacrilegious.
His prospects look just fine to me. Ed Jo and Kasper all look fine. Gonna probably have two more up next year and hopefully upgrades on Chariot. You don't wanna hear it but ceiling raisers come from inside the organization not free agency.
He's willing to trade a first if it means getting a debrincat type.
I’m talking how holland ran the team at the end of his tenure, Yzermans last few years are eerily similar. He hired his own brother as director of pro scouting and in that time our pro scouting has been putrid. I have no clue how anyone would be okay with this if it was someone other than yzerman doing it.

You may not count the first three years, but that’s because you’re in the shrinking segment of the fan base that still wears their Stevie pajamas from 1998 and can’t differentiate from his playing career to his woefully underwhelming tenure in Detroit as GM. There is literally no other profession on earth where someone would get to say they shouldn’t be expected to deliver results for over half a decade.
No other GM named Yzerman would have gotten this long with the failure to deliver major changes - and no, “incremental improvement” isn’t good enough anymore.

Can't watch the game but I see Mrazek gave up 3 goals. It's almost a given he gives up 3 a game no matter what.
mrazek is not the problem imo, playing well. drw were outplayed in first 2 periods bad.
