Wings analytics are quite poor. Worst in the league offensively and mediocre defensively. Their closest comparable is actually Chicago. Doesn't seem like a playoff team this year.

His play has been good.

I wouldn't call him outstanding this year because the points basically haven't followed dhis level of play.

I don't see Kasper as more than a middle six center, but he is going to be a good one.

I'd point to his On Ice Shooting Percentage being 4.51%
So I questioned that he was playing 'outstanding hockey'. For reference, Draisaistl or Kaprizov are playing 'outstanding hockey'.

That's all. Didn't say he sucked. Didn't say he won't be good. But a first round forward on a 21 point pace is not 'outstanding hockey' even for a defensive forward.

Looking up at the quotes and the word 'good' is appearing and that I agree with. I think he'll be a good NHL player as well.

Regarding shooting percentage.. yeah his shooting percentage sucks but this isn't like he has a long history of a mean and will regress to it. That is his shooting percentage as an NHL player. He's played 27 NHL games and shoots around 5% for now. That could go way up as he matures, builds and develops. But, right now, he is a 5% NHL forward on pace for 21 points. That is not outstanding.

He's actually Jiri Kulich.. I think Kulich is playing outstnading. First rounder. Lots of online praise and the eye test looks great! He's working his ass off and I watch Buffalo because of him.

Pretty similar to Kasper. Higher shooting percentage and more goals. Apparently Jiri can't pass a puck. Nonetheless.. I can say, as a very bias Czech person that he is playing outstanding too.. I'd expect to be questioned on it. I'd argue no one in Buffalo is playing outstanding. I'm not sure anyone in Detroit is bringing home hardware this year either.

Why does everything need an answer set in stone?

Could be 2 UFAs, 1 via trade and 3 prospects. Sandin-Pellikka, Danielson and Brandsegg-Nygård certainly wouldn't be far fetched as players developing into good NHLers.
The reason I asked was because that page 'appeared' to be describing the next 6 Detroit guys joining the team as above average NHL players. 6 rookies coming in as above average.

So you definitely didn't say that and that is why I questioned that.

I totally agree Detroit needs 6 above average NHL players to improve. I also agree they don't have them right now. The next 3 rookies do look good. Seem like smart bets. However, I doubt they are 'impactful' for several more years from me hitting 'post reply'.

As an Oiler and Czech fan.. I just spend most of the 2000's watching first rounders bust out and return home or become coaches.lol

Montreal
Of all the O6 teams, Detroit has some of the most gracious and amazing fans who are not nearly as obnoxious as we are up in Canada.

Wings fans are mostly pretty awesome.

I really hope you guys find your way out of this soon. Being in the basement this long sucks and I wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemies.

Except Vancouver.
Vancouver can lick my sweaty fecal-smelling taint.

So, I brought up On Ice Shooting percentage, which is the teams shooting percentage while he is on the ice.

So it is more of an indicator of how good his teammates are doing as well and shows he could potentially be getting some more assists and there is more of a regression to a mean because its not just him.

If you want to focus on the word "outstanding", I won't fight you on that. It's a strong word that is subjective and can mean different things to different people. If you think that is a word that only describes Draisaitl and Kaprizov types, that's fine. HOWEVER, you can't say that "outstanding" is a word that is reserved for Draisaitl and then take a left turn and talk about how Jiri Kulich is outstanding

You, for some reason, missed the part where I said if I said Kulich was outstanding that I'd expect to be criticized. Just like you did when you only read half of what I wrote. I even admitted I was total bias.

Of course. Neither Kulich or Kasper are outstanding NHL players this season. I gave 2 quick examples of guys that have stood out to me.. didn't know I had to name every NHLer who has been oustanding this year. Helle, Necas, Makar, Hughes, McD, Kaprizov. There are a few more for you. I'd guess aroung 30 to 40 guys would fit that label right now.

My bad about the on ice shooting percentage. Thanks for clairication.

I'm not sure if there is a language barrier here... You ARE calling Jiri Kulich an outstanding player? Because I keep re-reading everything you wrote and it seems like you are calling him an outstanding player

Definitely a language barrier if you are reading that. Especially after rereading.

I'll do my best help you with your language barrier.

Some of you still have a lot of arrogance despite being wrong about everything, basically all the time. 😄
Ah, ok. So Wing fans offended your clearly delicate sensibilities. On behalf of all Wing fans, I apologize that you feel, I don't know, aggrieved? by hockey fans' posts on the Internet.

Haha. It seems like English isn't your first language. Don't know why YOU have to try to be a dick about it.

When you say:
"I think Kulich is playing outstnading"
"Lots of online praise and the eye test looks great!"
"He's working his ass off and I watch Buffalo because of him."
"as a very bias Czech person that he is playing outstanding too"
"I even admitted I was total bias"

Just throwing out the word "neither" in ONE of your sentences causes confusion because it contradicts the other 5 sentences.

That point flew over your head in spectacular fashion. I'd explain it but I already did.

Wings don't need 6 above average NHL players to improve.

Addition by subtraction.

I don't know who is coming in to replace them, but anything is better than what we currently have. Then the team is suddenly improved. I can name a couple of prospects ready to take the leap NOW, but six rookies isn't happening next season. Only two or three max. --Maybe six total by October 2026, but not next season.

I can see another rookie making a push this season when he gets healthy.

The biggest 'addition by subtraction' is Laldone and his assistants will be gone... hopefully far, far away! His coaching style has no structure, no skating, no purpose. He lost the team.

As far as outstanding players, DRWs Wings have 4 rookies skating this season. Only one looks outstanding... while Kasper looks good, he still has untapped offensive upside. Stat watching right now is meaningless unless you are trying to paint some narrative.

It's still unclear why you guys are so worked up about the Wings. Were we too mean to Holland or what?
See below, plus yes, Holland
Some of you still have a lot of arrogance despite being wrong about everything, basically all the time. 😄
Edmonton fans in this thread have arrogance because they think they know about how to rebuild a team. Look, the oil took ~7 first overall picks and landing a future top 5 player of all time to finally go on one playoff run on year 9 of said top 5 player. Maybe guys like Seider and Raymond should get a little time before anyone in Edmonton judges Detroits rebuild

Edmonton is not an example of how any team should do anything rebuild wise at all. Congrats on your one big playoff run where they almost won.

Your whole issue is completely semantical though. Some people will judge a player in Kaspers position and say he's done outstanding given his circumstances and context. You think the only players in the league that are outstanding are the top 5 scorers or so. I wouldn't necessarily say Kasper has been outstanding this year, but given his circumstances I can see why some people would with all the context
