As a Wings fan, I agree that I don't think Green will return a full-on Yandle comparison - that's just outrageous - but I do think there would be retention on Green (like there was with Yandle) to up the ante.
Green and Smith for your 1st and Klein seems reasonable. Depending on how much Detroit retains (I think they'd retain up to the full 50%), I might ask for a 3rd rounder or later in addition, but thats about it.
If Detroit is in a position where they are willing to trade Green (i.e. definitely not making the playoffs), then they're in a position to deal and they'd surely retain however much was needed to get the maximum.
