I'd start Montoya tonight, then let Price play Carolina Thursday and Ottawa Saturday.

Although I wouldn't be opposed to giving Montoya at least 4-5 of the remaining 10 starts given the relatively easy schedule, so Price can rest up a bit before playoffs.

Barring an epic collapse and a huge win streak from Toronto/Boston, we'll make the playoffs, so there really is no downside to letting Price rest up a little.

I don't feel this is a guaranteed win. Going from an intense back-to-back with playoff type hockey and something on the line to a team out of the playoffs with no real rivalry is a trap.

Win or lose, I'm looking for Montreal to come hard and not let up because this game is the complete opposite of the games they played in the weekend. You don't want to see them play this game like they have it in the bag.

Not to mention that if we lose tonight and Ottawa beats Boston, they're back to being 2 points behind us with a game in hand.

I would rather do the opposite. Price tonight and Montoya on Thursday. Tonight we're looking to extend our lead in the Division (with hopefully some help from Boston who play Ottawa).

And watch some criticize him for scoring these goals against non-playoff teams.

I know he's maybe not playing 100 % and his face offs dipped over the weekend , he was doing a lot better before that .
The media sure like harping on him though lol and he does have 40ish pts in 50 games

Ambush setup in Montreal's favour since the Wings played last night. Coaches have to make sure the players are ready coming out of the gate, because Detroit will be. A slow start falls on the coaches.

Excellent GDT. Sadly reminds me of the passing of the great Chuck Berry.

With how well Price played on Sunday, I wouldn't hate if he played today and Montoya got the start against the Hurricanes on Thursday.

Price should just keep starting. Not sure what the rush is to get Montoya in. It's only been 4 games since he's gotten a start. Give Montoya a start or two when we know our situation playoff wise a little better.

No one cares
Detroit's D is not the greatest so expect Radulov Patch and Chucky to get something going tonight, they were heavily checked in the last few games and will get more room to operate tonight. Someone else wondered about the let down after Ottawa and that could be a possibility as well. Surprised that Mac is not playing tonight, I felt like last game against Ottawa was his best but maybe Julien knows what he is doing here, motivation is a useful tool.

Cool GDT!!!!

Lets keep rolling, we got a bunch of non-playoff teams this week until we see Ott again on the weekend.
