Bertuzzi
For
Perunovich
Bolduc
STL 1st in 22 or 23

STL gets a top line winger, and Detroit adds a PMD, elite prospect, and another 1st.

What do we think?
We have forwards and scoring coming out our ears. The last thing we need is MORE scoring. And we're giving up two of our best prospects AND a 1st? There is absolutely no reason for the Blues to do this.

Who cares about Perunovich? He's not the meat of the deal.
He's a Hobey Baker winning defenseman and projects to be VERY good.

I completely understand blues fans saying they wouldn’t wanna make a trade like this because they are stacked at forward, but it’s another thing to act like bertuzzi isn’t good enough to warrant a 1st and bolduc. His talent is definitely worth that if he signed an extension.

It's a rental and for the price, not a good one.

For what you're asking, you ADD and add quite a bit.

We're not in that big a need for offensive talent that is untested in the playoffs.

We are, however, in need of strong LHD that can either slot top 4 or be a 1LHD, which is what your offer is heading towards. If you had one, we would add. Got any of those?

If not, there's no deal here and Army won't even look at it once, let alone twice.

And if memory serves, he isn't vaccinated so he can't travel to Canada and play games there. If that's changed, I'd like to hear about it. If not, then we definitely wouldn't want him.

He's never been in the playoffs and I don't want to find out he turns into a pumpkin when we actually need him. Plus he's a rental. If you really want max value, extend him and trade. Otherwise, I can't see the price being as high as many seem to think. He's not Giroux. He is however quite valuable to your team.

Again I said I said WITH an extension he is worth that, and I personally don’t care what we decide to do with him. If we trade him for a return like this I’m happy, if we keep him I’m happy as well. I’m just saying he’s a very good player.

Has he gotten vaccinated yet or would we be playing Canadian teams without him?

And how well has he recovered from back surgery? We got a dman who was never the same after this and we don't need to be repeating that.

Your 'deal' needs more meat.

You're proposing the Blues spend 3 of their top 5 futures (among two upcoming first round picks and three prospects) so they can add to the least needy area of the team. That's not smart management.
It is if they offer it to the Wings...

We sure as hell ain't, not on the OP's deal lol.

It doesn’t really take seeing Bertuzzi in the playoffs to know he plays a style that will thrive there.

That’s the exact reason I have no interest in losing him.

And futures are always in an uncertain phase, so you never know if they will become gems or busts.

If anyone happens to notice, Yzerman drafts big blueliners between 6'1" to 6;8" and Perunovich is 5'9" too small for Detroit's blueline pass.

This was Armstrong’s M.O. too. Game has changed a little bit. I don’t think guys are steering away from the highly skilled puck mover any more.

Blues simply cannot afford to add salary at the wing position. They also can’t afford to mortgage the future for a winger. This is a package I think the Blues could stomach losing for a guy like Chychrun who is a top 4 blue liner with a feasible cap hit and some years left. Like the player, would fit with the Blues, it just can’t work with how the team is already constructed

He may be worth it value wise, but he sure isn't worth it team needs-wise. If Blues are trading Bolduc/Neighbors+1st rounder we need to get a top pairing/top 4 lhd. And if we aren't getting that then it's not worth it.

Why do the Blues need another top six winger? They’ve got like 7 already.

As an Avs fan that just watched the Blues over 12 games, that’s a team that needs to upgrade their defense. Esp with a puck mover.

Missing Krug made a big difference in that area. They just need to upgrade overall D in whatever form it takes.

Blues aren't trading futures for a forward, and the Blues don't need another player who is going to be asking for a raise next summer, already have enough to deal with between ROR, Thomas, Kyrou, and Tarasenko.

Again completely understandable, I wouldn’t do that trade either if I was the blues GM. I was just saying people were acting like he was a scrub it seemed
