There is nothing at all wrong with digging up this thread. On the contrary, it is quite useful and good.Clearly I chose to do it this way and not care who it bothered.
As far as old threads being brought up, that really doesn't bother me. If I think one might, then I just don't click on it. only about 5-10% of the threads on the main board interest me in the first place so wading through threads isn't a concern for me at all since I already do that.
My view is if people want to have strong opinions about something that later turn out to be wrong, then they should have some accountability for it. Otherwise, people will be spouting off all the time with no chance for any responsibility or repercussions for them.
I see your point and don't dismiss it at all, but to each their own.

The wings fans were and still are desperate. We want to watch a good team, good hockey, but there isn't much. I am a wings fan, btw.
Neither team got fleeced. The canes didn't think he was something, but neither did any GM in the league. If Nedeljkovic was as good as his numbers, someone would definitely give a 1st for him.
Yzerman, on the other hand, realised he was coming off of a hot streak and would be confident for a while. And he was. But when the wheels fell off, they fell off for good.
I think he is done in this league. I doubt any team will take a chance on him. I am kind of 99% sure.

Hreschuk isn’t our prospect any more, he’s with Florida now. He was one of two prospects the Canes dealt away in the Max Domi trade.
Domi was pretty useless for us, except for one game when he scored 2 goals and an assist. That was Game 7 against the Bruins, a 3-2 win. So effectively, the win in that game was the return on this trade for Carolina.

Should also point out that it wasnt just wings fans that thought Canes was being fleeced (at the time) but the whole league including a few canes fans. Hindsight is 20/20 though

I love confirmed trade necro bumps. I go from "What?!?" to "No freaking way!!!" to "JFC I'm stupid!" all in the space of about .5 seconds. It's like going through the 5 stages of grieving all at once. It's hysterical lol.

This thread should be renamed "The Great Fleecing of Carolina circa 2020 (colorized)", and make it a sticky, so that Red Wings fans can make periodic pilgrimage to experience shame.

I never thought the canes got fleeced. I was the very 1st one to call him bust on our board. The most of the wings fans did not like it. A team can make a goalie look great, as we see the numbers of every goalie after Nedeljkovic look great with the canes.
If any GM in the league thought that Nedeljkovics numbers were not inflated by the canes, someone would definitely give at least 2nd for him. His numbers looked so great that 1st plus something was necessary to get him. Obviously no GM thought he was worth a 2nd round pick and rightfully so.
