Yeah I'm mostly shitposting with Clarke but it's not really clear why the Penguins did this. Had they held onto him for another year, they likely would have gotten a 3rd or 4th for him as a rental.

Sure, but we move $2M of cap out for next season. San Jose has to hold onto him to get the upgraded pick.
It's worth it for them, I'm sure, but I don't think it was a bad move for the Penguins. With or without Schenn in the lineup.
