Yeah I'm mostly shitposting with Clarke but it's not really clear why the Penguins did this. Had they held onto him for another year, they likely would have gotten a 3rd or 4th for him as a rental. Trading him for a 5th in 3 years doesn't really do much for them, and they didn't really need the roster spot for a RD.
