Trade was weak .. 3 months ago Dermy was offered for a 1st rounder in 2022 and no teams were interested .. there were teams interested in a 2022 2nd rounder from Dermy's dad .. clearly Dubie waited around too long and lost a little here .. we ended up losing a 2nd rounder and got a 3rd because of CAP manipulations on Gio retention deal .. not terrible but goes to show that waiting around does not always get you more .. good for Dermy as he is gonna get a top 4 shot in Canuckland playing on right side .. he has all da tools and he has da nuts so Canucks confidence in him likely will pay off for them in a top 4 dman at a reasonable AAV

Depth wasn't an issue before yesterday

Yesterday, we had one defenceman go out, and one better defenceman come in.

Sounds like we have the same depth as before, with a better defence core...

Dermott will forever be known as the guy taken 1 spot ahead of Sebastian Aho because in 2015 our Top 2 prospects were forwards and the 2016 Draft was absolutely loaded with forwards.
